For those of you that have to finance
Here's the thing. In West Palm it will be like 5 months before the 08' 14 will be available for sale because the majority that come in already have deposits on them (according to my salesperson), so that gives me a lot more time to get things ready for when they do become available to the rest of us. Thing is my credit score is on the "lower-end of average", and I was told that financing a motorcycle is much different than a car, and that even with a sizeable down payment that I might still not be approved??? By then I should have around $5000 down. Can anyone enlighten me if what my salesperson says is true, or not? Should I wait even longer and try to get like seven grand? I wouldn't want to go down there all psyched-up and just have to head home empty handed.

Try to arrange financing ahead of time through your bank or credit union. Don't rely on going into the dealership and having them trying to get you approved. Good luck.

+ 1 Go to a bank or credit union and apply and talk to a banker. Many time the dealer has a bank that they work with. Ask them. Do it now and you will know where you stand.

Do what I did.
Get stevewfl to underwrite the deal and you can get it at a good rate.
:P
edit: he doesn't know it, but an "X" as a signature from him seals the deal

Thanks for the info guys! I never thought to use my credit union instead. That's a good idea!

dude thats funny! but as I said if one is willing put down a decent deposit OR sign over a lein on their home (same as a bank), I'll finance the bike cheaper than the banks that are charging oodles of interest for "high risk" folks!
especially a local FL bike as mentioned above :P
