OJ, Neither... Remove the stock end caps and use a slide hammer with the vise grip attachment and clamp down on the tip of the exhaust pipe. Use the slide hammer to remove the stock baffle from within the cans, this may take several times of pulling and reclamping the bite on the vise grips, but the baffle will slide out. Next you will need several extra long drill bits (Approx. 11" long) to drill through the inner wall of the exhaust. I visited my local machine shop, they had a variety of bit sizes and they drilled out the holes for me using a industrial dual handle drill. Didn't take any time at all. I don't remember the exact size the final hole ended up being, but it was somewhere around 1". Then reinstall the end caps. I also enlarged the center hole on my end caps for maximum flow, but it's not necessary and since yours look to be chrome I wouldn't cut them. The guy who bought the bike & pipes is a member of the VMOA website (Vmax Owners Assoc.) he lives in Spartanburg, S.C. I can try to contact him for you if you'd like or you can try the website. The sound was great and it definitely enhanced the bikes performance without losing the stock look. Many of the Vmax owners at the bike rally were very interested in how I got the stock pipes to sound so good and they really liked the deep tone that the pipes had. Let me know if I can help further on this. Just send me a pm.
