Like smokin said, wait till these bikes are modded. Only then will the real story between the 08 busa and 14 will come after the stock crap and emissions are gone in place of good quality aftermarket pipe and good mapping/tuning. 14 i'm betting still has the edge in comfort. Little curious about the new frame's casting. While i'm not too concerned, i haven't forgotten some of the frame breaks reported. Despite the claim of being lighter, hoping the frame will be just as durable if not more.
Love the blue and silver colors, but I honestly LOVE the special edition black and red. Much better then the white/red. It's not the green/black i was hoping for but this honestly looks good to me. Bet it's much better in person.

i think some of the mods could migrate to my 06 if they prove to be worthwhile, maybe the beefier injectors who knows. they stuck with an awesome design, and they obviously wanted to improve the entire power band. theses are things most of us have remedied with our add-ons. i'm waiting to see what numbers come from qualified folks.

Will be interesting to see final professional testing numbers like bigtd said. Does anyone know if the oil plug was relocated? We know the seat is unchanged

Dear Mr. Kawasaki,
Please make a 650cc or 700cc version of the KLX250.....a super-sized KLX250! And keep the price Kawasaki-affordable. Build it and they will come.

The 250 has a steel frame? Keeping it cheap and more crashable I guess. I'd love to see a ZX250RR or ZX4RR built with an aluminum frame and quality suspension for the track. But it is good to see more for the beginner market, however they need to close the gap(crater) between the 250 and the potent 600's; a trackable 400 is needed.
The ZX14 lost a few pounds and gained it back plus some more through emissions, not their fault, just the governments. I saw someone complaining about the Busa making a few more possible hp which is REALLY splitting hairs, nobody is gonna see or feel -4 hp on a 160+ HP 560 pound bike; what is that like 2-3%? Crist already.

Featuring a relaxed sport riding position, the ZX-14 is compact without being cramped, with its bars positioned within easy reach. The narrow engine, monocoque frame, and fuel tank provide a slim rider interface. Footpegs are low-set to give ample legroom and the low seat height and narrow seat front make it easy to plant both feet on the ground when stopped.
That is exactly my request from Kawasaki, from what I posted months back!!!
Thanks Kawasaki, from what they say about the seat and handle bar set up seems like it was updated for me!!!
Cant wait to see the '08 blue and silver!!!
The new 10 looks real small...Like a 600

Hope brock gets a '08 ZX-14 to mod and test alongside the '08 busa. That'll be the only test/review worth reading.

Many have mentioned how great the new 250 looks....................I agree.
In the real world though it is still a 250. Zipping around on one sounds like more fun than it would be in real life.
I have a naked SV 650 as my other bike. I do like it around town and on the local roads. The SV has decent power, but there have been many times where it felt under powered.
I can't imagine running a 250 other than around town. Traffic just moves too damn fast not to end up as road kill in short order. Might be a great track bike for smaller paved courses.
If you want one and use it like a 'scooter' than I guess you will be fine

The current Kawi 250 isn't bad at all. Used as a 250 or "scooter" as you said, of course. But I'm 190 6'2" and have no probs holding the 250 at 80-90 MPH, while getting 70-80 MPG.
With the new plastics, I assume the sweet looking new one will do the same or better.

I'm sure you all have been waiting for me to eat some crow. I guess the photo of a new Kawasaki I thought might be the ZX-14 was photo chopped but I think it might do Kawasaki some good to hire this person and re-design the Noses of their sportbikes.
Still the Kaw has everything over the Yamaha's Tail's, what's up with that, Some of the best front ends in the business and those tails are really tails.
As far as the 08's go, I really like the Special edition. I'm sure it's me, I owned a 1991 ZX-11 and I really like that red and black combination.
After all the overheating problems over the last year I was hoping that the radiator would have dual fans. Maybe they will but my thinking is with a weak dollar and some changes the 300 dollar bump in price would not reflect the additional fan.

Word has it that Kawi is busy with the idea of building a ZL1400, much like the ZL900 Eliminator of 1985... "Super Power Cruiser". Something about crushing Zukes new B-King & Yamaha's upcoming release of the revamped VMax. If they build it with a long wheelbase and low to the ground with lower gears and a big fat sticky rear tire, for the sole purpose of going insanely fast in a straight line using the big ninja's power plant they may just have something. Kinda like a street legal drag bike, stock right out the box.

I'm still waiting on the ZX14R. Lighter, more ground clearance, TC, and an athletic look with slimmer tail. Kinda an updated ZX12R instead of a Busa'ed ZX12R.
Never happen though.

It may be time we take note and see the pattern with Kawi and Suzuki not dressing their big bikes in their race colors? No Green ZX14, no Busa with the blue/white gixxer race colors....Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't the green ZX12 a candy shade rather than Kawi racing lime?
It seems they'd make one in lime green, as they obviously realize more would be sold. But they don't. Take the flames and painted suspension, and be happy :P
