Fun night at the track!
Well let me start off by saying that I have been deployed in Japan for the last 6months. I got back and started on the bike ASAP! Yesterday evening, I finally got her back together just in time for MRCLEAN which is one of the members on here, called me and said he was on his way to get me for the track! Well without testing the bike, without riding a bike period for 6 months, i nervously said what the hell and loaded up.
We headed to Dorchester which is only an 8th mile track. Here is my set up! Brocks SMEG, P/C, flies removed, about 62", and 16,43 gearing. Couldn't find a store so I was running 89 pump gas. And foot shifting.
1st pass was only to get a feel for the bike and make sure everything was working. Right out of the hole, I was sideways. Forget to lower tire pressure (rookie mistake). being away for 6 months you tend to forget a couple of things. Now for some balls
2nd pass: react: .272
60ft 1.508
E.T 6.063
MPH 118.003
3rd pass react: .136
60ft 1.536
E.T 6.063
MPH 118.280
4th pass react .256
60ft 1.486
E.T 6.058
MPH 115.715
5th pass react .250
60ft 1.496
E.T 6.065
MPH 117.933
Well like I said, this was my first time even on a bike in months so from what you just read, how did I do and what needs improvement?

You need nothing and you did just fine for not being on a bike for such a long time .............. Just keep going to the track and it will get faster .... Glad you are back home ...

I thought the bike was suppose to be running a lot faster but looking at the set up meaning pump gas, foot shifting and lack of seat time for so long, do you think spped will increase with like u4/mr9 and an airshifter?

I'll be sure and do that! The track was pretty good too! Got on the side of a pro mod so I decided to launch a little harder to see what she was going to do. Straight up we go! I though I was living with the stars. Once I got the front tire down, I damn near caught him. It was a hell of a race. Man, I wish I would have launched it like I've been doing!

Man you are deadly consistant. With some practice on the lights you would be pretty damn hard to beat in a bracket race. Nothing wrong with your mph considering you were footshifting. The U4 will give you another 1-2 mph in the 1/8 and 2-3 mph in the 1/4, MR9 is best but not so much so that it's worth the extra money. You're gonna go 5's next time to the track, good job.

What is bracket racing anyway? I got a small understanding of it but not sure how it works! Just know it has something to do with guess your times!

it's not a guessing game,
It's what number can you run consistant and not go below.
If you set your ET of 6.05 you would have been very hard to beat except you need to work on reaction. You would almost have to loose on the tree with those times.

Nightmare!, we have right at the same setup. My best the other night was only a 6.53 @ 111 mph with a 1.56 sixty foot. If you're running that fast, it gives me hope

Thanks man! Are you foot shifting as well? I will be going to the track again Saturday and my boys are coming along to provide me with some coaching/ videos to see what I am doing wrong. Really trying to get to where smokin is!
