Heavy riders, what's your gearing?
For the strip. I'm around 290 in leathers. Finally got some extensions, I'm just under 64". I put my 16t back on with the extensions. I had it on once before but it was too much for stock wb.
I know lower gearing will help at my weight. So, what gearing is working for the big guys. I want to go with as much as I can, without making it hard to ride again (wheelies).
Also, what gear and RPM are you hitting at the traps?

I'm 236 right now, running 16/43, you would probably do well @ 44T
The problem you will run into going much higher,
is you may need to shift 6th at the stripe, no good.
Just my take on it.

MArk I am 285 and I went with 16/44 I spoke with Rickey Gadson at length about gearing set up for someone my weight on a 14 and he said 16/;44 was PERFECT he has a buddy with a 64in 14 that weighs 285 as well and he said they have done extensive testing and this gearing is the best they have found also Rickey carries the 44t sprocket in stock for a 14 at a very reasonable price go to www.sportbikezone.com or call them at (856)784-3278
Vortex sprockets of course Please if you call them tell them Matt the Bald guy from Arkansas recommended you to them ( I am working on getting them to sort of sponsor me so please tell them I recommended you)

I'm about 240 suited and I went up 1 in the front, about 6%. I'm no track junkie but I can't keep the front wheel down through 1st if I'm at WOT. I love it on the street, being able to rip up to 85 in 1st then shit it into overdrive (6th). Got pulled over last week for "accidentally" doing a 75mph wheelie in a 55 zone. Cop was too far back to pace me so he let me off. Lower gearing might make it a little easier to get good 60ft times though.
