What type of Frame Sliders do you have?
I was wondering what brand of Frame Sliders to put on the ZX? Muzzy seems to be a bit expensive @ $150 per set. I was looking at some on Ebay but I didn't want to put something that wouldn't stand up in quality. What are your experiences?

I bought the polished ones off ebay for 45.00 delieverd. They are nice and bolt right on. Dont seem much of a difference as long as the are long enough, fit right and don't look like crap.

LSL
Aint cheap, aint purty, but will do twice the job of the other crap. Mine are for get offs on the track. Not whatever the plastic ones are for. Dont plan them saving the bike, just my ankle in case of 100 mph low side.

Main thing is to stay away from the plastic crap. Those things will fly-off like Lee's Press-On Nails. Muzzy and Crash Pads might be expensive but think of what you are protecting.

I also have the Muzzy's but they were $99.00 when I bought them. $150.00 for them now is a rip-off.
Pick up one of the sets on E-bay. They will do the job just fine and won't cost an arm and a leg.

I have Muzzys also...
Superman:
I have Muzzy's sliders, but you have alot of options. Puig sells a set for about $100 retail. I went with Muzzy's assuming that his drag program has put a few bikes on the ground over the years and therefore maybe a bit a value in the durability of the parts. Sliders won't save the bike in a big "incident", but priceless for a lowside/parking lot tipover or low speed deal.

From Muzzy, until they realized that there was a "mistake" in pricing, they claimed. A number of us here bought at those prices. They're made of Delrin, and Muzzys claims they are superior and expensive to build, blah blah blah...fucking horsehit IMO. You can buy sliders from a number of online vendors and they'll work just as well. They are supposed to wear down once they hit, so that the impact doesn't damage the frame. I have a buddy who bought a set of machined aluminum sliders for his FJR from an online vendor -- he paid like $70.00 and they look great and work fine, I'm sure. Shogun has sliders for 60 bucks or less...checkout LP as well; I have the LP Carbon fiber sliders on my R1 and my 10R, both of which have taken a hit and did the job perfectly.

I also paid $100 from Muzzy, but I purchased them early on before the price increase through Schnitz Racing.

FBA: Thanks for the info. If money is NOT a consideration would you still suggest that Muzzy and LSL Crash Pads are not worth it? I was seriously considering the Muzzy sliders and do not mind paying the extra money for quality if they are indeed an improvement over the competition. I mean, a lot of people here have Muzzy sliders on their bikes from when they were cheaper but would you recommend LP's or Shoguns OVER Muzzy's if say they were priced exactly the same?

I posted some picks of them when I got them. You can decide for yourself if they are worth the extra $$.
They are very heavy duty and well made but to me $150.00 is too much $$ for what they are. Check out the pics.

Thanks FTS, that was a good link. I like the fact that they look so heavy duty but they aren't as nice looking as the rounded LSL Crash Pads. I think I would spend the extra money for the Muzzy's just because it is a one time purchase and it can potentially save you thousands of dollars as Raptor stated in the other thread.

I don't need frame sliders on the 14. Of course my track bike is nicely equipped with VORTEX sliders.

The Muzzy sliders won't make your insurance premium sky rocket per incident.

I totally disagree that the frame sliders stand NO CHANCE of an insurance increase. If that 180,000,000 pound bolt holds up and the frame slider grabs a curb or such, wasted frame.
Anyway, looking at were that thing mounts and the damage the slider itself can cause I'll take my chances. The odds may be slightly better for saving the ZX14 but again there is a chance it'll total the bike instead of just slide.
The 600RR on the track is a whole different topic for me....and the frame sliders are real VORTEX, not Muzzy.
