Those dirt roads look good for some high speed knee dragging.

Steve, we hit New hampshire, Maine, Massachusettes and Vermont for 3 days of ripping the roads up. The only time we used a map was to find out where we were at the end of the day..no schedule...nothing planned...all told...about 1000 miles of high quality triple digit mountain sweepers, with the unavoidable bullshit miles coming to about 200. what a blast!! If you think you can keep up.....were doing it again in late September. We take the ride during the week...no weekend traffic....although I hear the Moose sometimes get in the way up there.

Thanks, I think I could keep up on the twisties, if not I'd bring the track bike in my avatar lol, I just don't have the time. I'll be in NC mountains before our brutal FL heat is over, but thats about as far north as I can get :P

Ninja_Knight, forgive me if I already asked, where in FL are you?
No problems, mon! I am in West Palm Beach. I do plan to make frequent trips to Tampa once I put my 14 in the lot so I hope I will be able to hook-up with some of ya'll out there.

I drove through the Blue Ridge Mountains for the very first time last year. My God it was beautiful! I am extremely afraid of heights though, and it was tough enough being a passenger in a car of a girl who drives like a freak... I do not know how I would function if I was on my bike.

Ninja-nick...The road was paved half way up the mountain. Its an 8 mile ride and they dont tell you that the upper half is dirt...apparently they pave a little more each year. Honestly ,we thought it was going to be a piece of cake riding up...but once you hit the dirt part with the high winds....the pucker factor is higher than you might think....coasting down , youre on the inside of the mountain for the most part...that was the only time I could take pics...going up...no way!
