lock up clutches
can anyone out there tell me what is the purpose for lock up clutches. 2nd question , i have a carpenter motor putting out about 215 hp do i need one

Whats your opinion of the Carpenter Motor, just curious how impressive it is?

I would say no .. with a 30 shot i'm making about what you make on motor and the stock clutch works great ..A lock up is just what it is ...It locks the clutch up at a set RPM... You can set that RPM by adding or removing weight form the lock up unit.. Smokin...

i like the motor just fine very powerfull through out the power band. had to take it to lees in n.c. to get it tuned.. well worth the trip

Did you lose any low end power, and is it stock displacement and pistons?

215 with stock displacement ummm NO!!!!! that is prolly a 1415
