HINDLE slipons,TRE006A,no FLIES

Well today I finally put them on!

The bike is not tuned, but the Muzzy slipon, no flies map works ok.

Here's what I did....
I had the NO FLIES, STOCK exhaust map loaded in, then today I put on the HINDLE's and drove the bike about 2 kms to a laptop computer to change the map. The bike ran like crap. Once the new map was in, the drivability improved greatly. So then I drove home and unpackaged the TRE006A.

Well, I gotta tell you, the TRE006A DOES make a difference!! It's for with NO FLIES.
The instructions say, "this product will disable fuel shut-off on decell and will give excellent on/off throttle transitions, as well as reduced popping on decell."
I gotta tell you, that I went for a 30 minute ride, it's hot here (75F) and the bike was so smooth at low rpms and when you let off the gas, it didn't jerk when you got back on the gas. And until just now, when I re-read the instructions for the TRE, I never noticed that it wasn't jerky when on-off the gas!! Did I mention, it's so smooth! Backfiring is at a minimun also.

The gear selector shows a N in any gear, but this is not the neutral map, rather it's supposed to be the "non-emissions" mode of the ECU.

No mention of any timing retard elimination in the instructions....

So tomorrow at the Sport Bike Rally, I will put the bike on the dyno for a run. NO TUNING, just a fun run.
I hope to actually have it at the shop on Tuesday for a full dyno tune session.

I will film the bike on the dyno on Saturday and post up the video on Sunday!! Then you can see my HINDLE Ti-slipons!!

Slipons took about 15 mins to install....TRE was about 5 mins.

BTW, should I not see the results I want on the dyno next week, we will see what happens when the TRE006A is removed!!

1. Sounds like you mapped without the TRE. If the TRE changes the ECU to the "non-emissions" mode, does that mean you need to remap. I've been wondering about that.

2. I've got the Brock/Hindle StreetSmart Gen III Exhaust, no flies, and currently running Brocks street map for flies out. I've been thinking of adding a TRE-006 to get rid of that decel backfire. It's starting to get old. I've been hesitant to do so based on the assumption that the map I'm using will no longer be correct. I know I can get the map from Ivan but I have to spend $200 to get it so right now I'm living with the backfire. By the way, in the evening those riding behind me tell me that they see a yellow flame shoot out the exhaust when it backfires.

HEY!!!

Today at the Sport Bike Rally, I had the KING OF THE DYNO until the last minute when a 03 ZX12 with full Hindle tied me. He then beat me by ONE hp. That sucked!

So I made 171 rwhp SAE. A/F was nice at just over 13 to 1 all the way. It was about 13.5 at cruising speed, 6th gear at 120kms (70mph).

Hindle slipons, titanium 18". TRE006A, NO FLIES, stk airfilter.

Map is Muzzy's slipons with no flies.

VIDEO and dyno coming Sunday!

There is no hard backfires on decell. Let off the throttle and re-apply and it's SMOOTH, no jerky.

SO, you wanna hear how the other bikes did?
ALL Busa's made 155 to 158 rwhp. with slipons, one had a full Yosh.
Built 05 or 06 GSXR1000 on race fuel made 162. < all other 1000';'s, ZX or GSXR made 150 to 155. One ZX10 made 158.
Vmax on nitrous made 158.
Two Brother full system ZX12 2001 made 167.
and the 03 ZX12 that beat me, made 172.

Yo 87gtNOS:

We met at Sport Bike, I'm the guy with black ZX14 who was asking about your Hindle slip-ons.

Could you take some photos of your system, side and rear shots.

TIA.

Mine was the stock one parked under the trees when you enter the site.

TIA for the photos.

Were yours the standard Ti cans and mid pipe from Hindles site?

Yes, my mufflers are 18" Titanium ovals...not the stealth ones!
So yes, the standard midpipes from the website. $250 retail CDN for the midpipe set.

Oh I see...smooth power is slow and rough power is fast.

I think my dyno sheet speaks for itself. Would you like me to print a sheet with STD hp readings like brocks SMEG with Maxton map (189 STD) so you can more easily compare the difference of my slipons to his MR9/no air fllter Maxton map?

I am also pretty sure the 189 rwhp STD that Brock made was with MR9 Race fuel and No air cleaner? I believe it was.

I think I saw a dyno sheet 184 STD with air cleaner and 91 octane fuel. What's 184 std in SAE? I think there's sometimes a 10% difference..even at 5%...

Do the math...

Besides, what does it matter, it's very street friendly, and snappy. Very wheelie prone. And the Busa's on the same dyno, same day, made 155-158 rwhp SAE!

Some people requested some pics of the system! Here they are...the first one is the top speed recall on my speedohealer....after the dyno session!

Dude i dont think he was knocking your pipes. Hindle are great pipes hell they manufacture Brocks pipes for him. But comparing Slipons to the SMEG system is a little far fetched for one dyno numbers mean nothing!!!! here is a better test ask someone that drag races and has had both slipons and full exhaust what the MPH differences were in the 1/4 that will give you a decent idea of power not to mention the full system saves like 40 pounds. Bike looks great and those are good numbers

Oh, I know he wasn't bashing or anything!! Nice to see you making 183 rwhp!! I am still awaiting a chance to ride with a guy who has a Brock GEN3, which is same header as SMEG has. I'll take his bike for a ride to feel the difference!!

Here's a before and after..well it's after then before in the pic!!

Just so you know they do share the same headers but the SMEG makes about 3-5 more horsepower then the Gen 3 which if you dont race and are no9t looking for every little last HP then that wont matter but if you want all the HP you can get get the SMEG

the bike looks great and runs great , i'm just not an ivan fan,if it makes you happy thats what counts
personally i would not want to lose my gear indicator or performance with the tre

if you are a dyno racer brock has dyno maps, if you want real world performance use his track or maxton map and watch all your friends from the rear view mirror

Thanks bigdtd, I am still very curious about the TRE006A. I am still tempted to put the bike on the dyno and run it with and without the TRE and try to tune without the TRE to see what the results are.

This bike runs great, hauls ass. It's very friendly at low cruising rpms. Without the TRE and using the same map, it's 'bucking' at anything below 4000 rpm. Not bucking that bad, but just not as smooth to drive.

It will cost me $150 bucks (CDN) to find out if the TRE is hurting power or is a waste of money....ofcourse if the TRE made no difference then I'd send it back! After spending the $150 and finding that we couldn't improve on the end result and make more power 'under' the curve, I will have wasted the $150!
