need a map! slipons, TRE,no flies

Hey guys, anyone have a map for slipons, TRE and no flies? I currently have the no flies US model map off the PC website loaded up with +1 bar on the low end.
TRE006A should be here today or tomorrow, and my slipons are here now, so it all should be on Friday night I hope!

I was thinking of running the Muzzy slipon map from the PC website and adding some fuel in the 3000 to 4000 rpm range as a temp fix until I get some dyno time.

So a map from someone would be nice to get me through the weekend!
Thanks

Jonathon

Why do you want a TRE with the flies out? It will do you no good and you will lose your gear indicator.

Here we go again! The TRE006A is for FLIES OUT! It eliminates the timing retard in the first few gears. Why wouldn't you want it?!!! LOL!!!

Here's the features of the 006A model
-It still allows full timing at full throttle. As you shift up through the gears, the amount of throttle needed to access the advance curve decreases, until you make it into 5th gear and then it's gone. The TRE will give you massive low end power increase.
-The TRE will disable the Part Throttle Timing Retarder in gears 1 through 4.

This would then help with the 'abruptness' of the throttle when you let off and then re-apply throttle!

Guys, when I dyno this, hopefully next week, I will unplug the TRE and test it. If it isn't what Ivan claims, then he will be getting it back!!

So anyone got a map for me to get me going?

I ran the muzzy map with my d&d slipons and it ran just fine. Get the brocks smeg if you want power. Much better than slipons anyday!

Thank you blackbullet, looks like that is the way I'll have to go!

And yes, I know a Brock's makes the most power...but remember, Brock himself went faster with a Map that made 6 less HP on his dyno!!

I like the dual look!! If it's not up to my satisfaction, I'll look into a full system. Maybe once I hear a SMEG in person, I'll be hooked!!

The sound of an smeg' 14 will give any person still breathing..... a HARD WOOD when they hear it at 11,000 rpm!

Brocks map on the dyno does not compensate for ram air effect, thus the power loss on the roller but not to the pavement!
LM1 helped him dial a/f ratio, whereas the dyno does not have ram air...

He told me himself the Maxton Map is "the map to use for drag and top speed"

I can't recall the thread, or who put it on here, but someone had one (TRE) installed on the no flies.. and he said that by the "seat of the pants feel", he could not feel any difference at all. Now I know that "seat of the pants" isn't very technical, but to an experienced rider, I think he would be able to feel the , "...TRE will give you massive low end power increase". MASSIVE???!!! The massive low end power increase is pulling the flies. We have heard from people with flies in and a TRE and they thought that it did help... but those same people when they removed the flies noticed a HUGE difference. I am not anti Ivan. I am also not pro Ivan... but to say MASSIVE low end power is a sales gimmick. (IMHO) Give us a report after you do the 2 dyno runs though... (with paperwork) so we can see what you get... thanks. Oh... wait... "abruptness of the throttle when you let off and then re-apply"???!! Isn't that exactly what we are looking for... responsiveness....???!! If I want to eliminate the abruptness of the 14... Ivan is telling me to buy his TRE???!!! If I want to lose the abruptness I will get the Ninja 250... and add the TRE..... ha ha

thread-search this forum and you'll find the part # for the fifty cent resistor that makes up a TRE.

The experience of many 14 owners is that if you have removed the flies and are remapping with a PC then you don't need a TRE. It will be interesting to see Jonathon's results.

3boysand3bikes, is the TRE you speak of the 006A version? Or the original version for flies IN?

I understand and thanks to all of you. I know the difference between a gimmick and what not! I promise, the TRE006A will go back if there is no power difference on the dyno!

So anyways, Muzzy slipon, flies out map will go in for the weekend. I will be driving the bike 250kms north to the Parry Sound Sportbike Rally on Saturday. They will have a dyno there, HOWEVER, the run I do will just be a baseline run let's say, NO TUNING.
Next week I will take the bike to who I believe to be one of Canada's TOP superbike tuners, Ryan Gill of Rider's Choice to do my custom map and tune!

I didn't think the 14 had retarded timing in low gears? I thought the flies installed and being closed did the job of taming the bike down low? Just askin!
