Why? Do you have an extended ECM,
the bikes stk revlimiter shuts off at 10800.
Just curious!

I have an MSD shiftlight. There are two models that externally look very similar.

One is for dragstrips. Programmable to different rpms in first four gears. But gets confused if you just drive around what gear it's in. And sometimes won't go off at all (thinks you are in 5 or 6). Works great at the dragstrip. Shit on the road.

The other is a standard shift light. One rpm.

I personally think both are OK for the strip where you can get low and keep the track and the light in your line of sight.

But for the twisties, I don't think the MSD(or any one) is bright enough to get your attention in the bright sun. Plenty bright at dusk or at night.

Thanks for the info, I saw that there were two part numbers. I will more likely get the one rpm light. for the drag strip.

I have built a few launch / shift lights with autoshift output for the ZX14. LEDs are super bright. Adjustable up to 15,700 RPM.

Pat Dietrich has one on his 07 black, sweet bike

Depends on what you want, if you need the mounting bracket for the 4 LED pod, if you want a tube style (blue in the tube style costs more). If you want autoshift output to trigger your air shifter etc.

The ZX14 ones I do i use a coil connector off #1 coil to get power and tach, then you have to scotch lock using t taps (if you are scared to solder) for ground and clutch signal, about a 5 minute install as far as wiring goes.

I am not sure what the rules are here for advertising etc. so dont want to post my website. I can email it to you or PM as I dont want to break any rules.

Launch and Shift light are adjustable from 3000-15,700 RPM

Upper launch window (to shut light back off if over revved) is adjustable from 100-3000 RPM above the launch setting. Meaning 500 window would put your launch light at its setting, say 5000 RPM - 5500 RPM would bring the launch light on with clutch in only. Anything above or below and its off. With clutch out you get normal shift light and for another $10 can get autoshift output to make it shift your air shifter for you.
