(Silver) Opinions - Slip on vs. Full Exhaust

So, I've got the silver14, but now I'm having a hard time making a decision on what I want to do with the exhaust and other overall cosmetic stuff. Some of the back story; Since my first Suzuki Ive owned nothing but KAWs. I had the '96 ZX11 for 4 years from new (the burgundy one, I never should have sold it). I had the '00 ZX12 for 7 years from new (the silver one, kinda wish I'da kept that one too). Now I'm on to the 14. On eachof the previous KAWs I ran full systems (Micron) with power commanders as base mods. I loved the power and performance etc, etc, etc, but I'm not sure what direction I want to go with the 14.

ISSUE #1 - Full System or Slip On

I'm not at the point in my cycling life anymore where I feel like I've got to be THE fastest dude on the street, a feeling the previous KAWs (& their mods) allowed. As long as I'm never just plain smoked, which the 14 and I would never allow anyway, I'm happy with the acceleration and cornering clearance the bike allows in stock trim. Also, I really kinda like the look of the 14 with dual exhaust. So do I go with some slip ons that'll give me the sound and a look that I might like OR do I go with the Roaring Toyz (RT) new short exhaust which is damn cool lookin?

ISSUE #2 - IF The Full System

I've pretty much decided on RT if go that route, but someone brought up an interesting point to me recently. Because the exhaust is sooo short, will it allow enough back pressure to realize a performance gain, with a PC III of course? My previous full systems have been standard size in the past, so I've never had to consider this issue. Is there any truth to that? RT advertises a 9HP gain over stock. I dunno? Anyone got that RT exhaust? Is it any good?

ISSUE #3 - If The Slip Ons

Which ones have you all had good luck with? Since I would not be going for power, which ones offer the deepest most throaty sound coupled with a good look? I've LOVED my Micron full systems in the past, but I'm not sure I dig their slip on selection. I saw a red 14 with Two Brothers carbon fiber slip ons from a distance once and they looked pretty good, but I don't know about the sound or quality. I bet they'd look pretty sweet on my silver.

ISSUE #4 - How Much Bling

{if you have not already seen my bike, go to my post "My Silver ZX14" or something like that)With the rise of the custimization craze, I'm looking to add a little bling, which I have not done a lot of in the past. I want just enough chrome to accentuate the silver while keeping it as distiguished as it already is. I sent my Rumble Concept fender eliminator off to be chromed today. It should bring out the chrome "ZX14" lettering on the tail piece. I'm also considering chrome stock wheels, calipers, rotors, sprockets, and that's it. No swingarms, clutch covers. etc. I think that would give me a good, clean, distinguished look.

SUMMARY - Opininions

I'm looking for any and all suggestions on any/all of the above topics. All of the comments will help me to form my ultimate opinion. BTW, I know a lot of you guys love the look/performace of the Brock Hindle Megaphone, but the LOOK doesn't float my boat, no offense.

ok, So what's wrong with slip-ons? Is every 1 or 2 extra hp necessary?

My point exactly. Anyone have an answer to the back pressure issue I posed in the original post?

Well, I am having a hard time with finding HINDLE slipons in Canada, if you can believe that.

Does anyone in Canada stock anything? Damn things are made here! So to order Brock's I have to pay duty for "made in Canada" parts???

Changing your exhaust away from stock will always result in loss of back pressure and consequently, loss of some low end grunt but, once you pull the flies, remap and do the exhaust, you'll see huge performance gains across the entire band. You'll pick up 25-30 LB FT of RWTQ at 3500-4000 RPM, so you won't care about the decrease in back pressure...dat's a fact Jack
