Oil filter

Question on the factory Kawasaki oil filter. I bought a filter from my dealer and he charged me $2.00 more than last year. He said Kawasaki did something new to the oil filters this year (probably a price increase, which I guess would be something new) so the price went up. Anyone else hear this or is he just looking to make more profit?

dealer mark up. they do what it takes to get a little extra profit. it is your choice to buy it there or somewhere else. 1 dollar more or less will not make a difference to me as long as it convenient to do business. i won't drive extra 10 miles to save me a dollar. that is just me.

i would use the oem as well, at least under warranty. if you had an engine failure with a competing filter they would point at your filter and go "see". proper oil flow is critical.
