Whew... thank God, or whatever...

I tried to be good... really I did. I was one of eight sport riders (the only 14) on a 300 mile loop yesterday, all wrapped around our new 14 and staring down the longest straight-away of the day. We had just come out of Borrego Springs headed toward Banner and if you've rode it you know you can see for miles! I was sit'n tight towards the back of the pack, biting my lip, trying not to explode when to my surprise from behind me in a full tuck comes my bud on his R1 screaming past everybody!
Well.... it only took a minute, maybe a second for me to fold, LOL. Later, the guys all laughed cause they had expected me to do it, not him. Anyway, we both saw 140 easy as we crested the rise, and rolled off a bit, I was just keeping a nice pace shotgun, when H E L L O ! Po Po in the bush on the left turns his lights on as we pass him. DAYUM! I was having such a good day! LOL. We pull over and he bullhorns "MOTORCYCLES, CONTINUE DOWN THE ROAD TO THE CALL BOX". oh shit, oh shit, I'm thinking this is it ! I'm finally getting that ticket I really deserve. He's gonna impound our bikes and make us call someone for a ride! ( I was really sweat'n this one) He takes our info, says radar locked on at 96, but since he could see that we were slowing down he would be kind. Not kind enough to give us a warning though... He ended up writing us for 75mph.... !!??!! Can you believe it?? 20 over! And that, so we would be eligible for traffic school.

So... call it what you will, Luck, Higher Power, Karma... whatever.. I feel blessed. More often than not things have a way of working out for me. I thank God I've changed my evil ways, 'cuz
good thing happen to good people!

...here's a plausible scenerio to ponder: any recorded speed 100mph and over is a MISDEMEANOR traffic related crime, not a simple speeding infraction in California...which means arrest, not a ticket...which means possible vehicle impound and possible jail time...lots more paperwork and time involved in that one...if there were more than one of you doing 100+, that's even more paperwork, more time, a flatbed for the bikes, additional units to haul you guys off to jail, etc.

...nah, its easier to lock the radar at 96, show you 96 and write you up for 75...almost makes getting a speeding ticket a more pleasant experience for the innocent until proven guilty ...and who would argue the point in court and tell the judge and jury that you would like the case dropped because the cop wrote the wrong and lower speed on the ticket?...

...this way the cop can stay on the beat and catch more speeders....especially if it was CHP who got your autographs...its their job

...you can thank God or whomever or what ever you wish for your "good fortune"....I suppose you could also thank the cop for not being so gung-ho about enforcing the letter of the law!

Lucky, if you would have been by yourself things would have been different.
Once you took off your helmet shook the golden locks he would have let you off with a warning.

See I told you people, she thinks she's bulletproof and it's a tragedy waiting to happen.

I know these roads and you can't do 140MPH safely.

While I appreciate what sounds like concern...? I have never claimed to be safe, sane or bulletproof BF, and you have absolutely NO idea how or what I think.
My life has always been some what of a comedy/tragedy. But better today than ever... and mine to live the way I choose. Why do you have such a problem with that?

The question, my dear, is not how or what you think, but how you act.

140 on those roads is crazy and the people that could get killed are not just you and your friends.

D, beat some sense into her, or at the very least, learn how to out talk her, I know you're handicapped in that area, but WTF give it your best shot.
