Moving from the 10r to the 14
Those of you who moved over from the 10r to the 14 : don't you miss the agility of the 10r?

No.
I haven't missed my 03 GSXR 1000
you can only go so fast on the street, until traction becomes an issue, and IMO if you push that hard leaned over on the roads where I live you WILL go down, just a matter of time.
The roads here are straight, long and rough, better suited to the zx14.
I do miss the wheelies at 120 mph, and low speed wheelies from the literbike, but they all get a good view of my tailight on the 14 as I pull away while they wheelie!
Its not a stunt or cct bike by any stretch, but it excells in drag racing, top speed, and comfort!
Wife likes the 14 much better as a passenger too! way better accomodations for 2 up riding.

the liter bikes have gained weight also, 10-20# according to todays Motorcycle USA; GSXR is 465# full tank.
IMO Experience tells me if you push it anywhere you will go down.

Yes i do miss my 2005 zx10. But i love my zx14 for the drag strip. 2 different worlds for sure. Keep the 10 and get a 14 also. I just bought a z1000 2007, thought id really like it. 1000cc power and handlebars for stunitin. Its a real good bike. But detuned like a motherfucker. Id like 2 have my 10 back. Anyways thats my 2 cents.

My '05 10R's for sale. I've got the 6R now for track and flickable fun and we're picking up the 14 tomorrow for stretch and comfort! ( god I love that bike!!)
I may miss the 10..... It's been a thrill. Complete with teeth and claws! LOL
In my perfect world there'd be more room and more $$ for more toys, but I'm not complaining!

A slightly better rider on a ZX-14 will usually keep up with a liter bike just fine on the twisties. I agree with Dubious also, if you push turns too much on the street you're gonna go down, it's just not worth it. There are too many unavoiadable hazards on public roads when you're pushing the envelope.
That being said, after having ridden only the 14 for several months, I jumped on the Gixxer 1000 to take it for a trade in quote. The Gixxer definitely felt more like it "wanted" to turn and be laid over, I guess because of the steering geometry and seating position. BUT, that comfort level in the turns doesn't come close to making up for all the things I love about the 14, namely the power comfort, and touring capability of the 14.

I miss my ZX9R I totalled, does that count?
Anyway, for "agility" as you call it, I ride a 600RR. Litre bike is still huge for the track/twisties.

Wouldn't give up my 10R...love that bike...spend as much time on it as the 14...very different bikes, both with their own distinct persona...now time to do some sprockets and change the calipers to the 14 calipers!

the big 14 is great, but I wouldn't give up the 600RR unless it was to swap for another "agile" bike

Yes, I miss my GSX-R1000K5 simply because it was so good. It's a bit like selling a much loved Mazda 2-seater and moving up to an Audi RS6 though, you soon know what you'd rather be driving, the Audi. I have only got time and space for one bike and at the moment I'd rather it was the Kawasaki 1400.
I need to qualify that statement some more. If you mean a standard ZX-10 and a standard 1400 I might even go for the 1000cc bike. However, remove the 'flies from the 14 and add a pipe and PC and it's no-contest.

Can't speak for the 10R but I like the 14 just as much as my R1 street bike. Both are very different for sure. I agree you can hustle the 14 around plenty quick for the street! My R1 inspires too much confidence in the turns which at some point will bite you. I bought ZX12R in 2000 (off loaded 12R last year and picked up the 14) and R1 in 2001 and could not imagine not having the best of both worlds.

Don't know about you, but my 14 low-speed power wheelies way easier than my 10R...even with the stock sprockets on the 14. My 10R doesn't come up easy until you hit 5 grand. which is like 45 miles an hour, where my 14 comes up at 20 or so -- and fast...my FJR used to come up at even less than that...all about bottom end TQ...
