What does this bike weigh?
I finally took my leathers to work to weigh myself on two different types of both being accurate. I weigh 198.7lbs suited. With all that being said what does this bike weigh?
Gotta feeling its time for the bike to go on a diet. Because I'm eating to good right about now.
KMC website says its 474lbs dry how about when its ready to go.

Mine weighed 501 with 3 gallons of fuel....

Will do, trying to get into the 50's first like it is.
I hear the mufflers are 35lbs give or take.

What do the aftermarket rims weigh vs the stockers?

I know one thing, my bike weighed a lot less after simply changing the dayum exhaust. Thats why I can't grasp the whole "slip-on" thing. That cast-iron exhaust manifold thingie I removed off felt like a railroad tie. Absolute phuggin' JUNK.
And the Brocks carbon fiber gen3, a PCIII, and the shipping boxes weighed about 10 pounds total if I remember the packing slip correctly. And I bet the popcorn in the boxes weighed more than the carbon exhaust portion

I'm thinking that if the stock exhaust and rims/tires are ejected and replaced, (BST claims 50% weight savings with streetable CF rims) the 14 shouldn't be too far off from a standard 1000 crotch rocket. If you get a SMEG, the passenger pillon pegs can be removed, saving more. It would be great if someone made a Ti subframe, our current frame with those huge chevrons on the sides has to be heavy.

Aftermarket wheels was the best mod I have ever done to my 1k. You would not beleive what removing 5 lbs of roating mass on the rear wheel and 3 1/2 on the front makes
The BST wheels would in total be about 3lbs lighter than the Forged marchesini 9i never had o failure and go over speed bumps every day when it was running a gazziion times sometimes too fast and they nver failed) most of that on the front wheel.
BST have a very light front wheel. Marvic has new ones that are even lighter thn the Marchesinis, combined with light rotors/ti bolts on the rotors and ceramic bearings 4lbs lost on the front. Never felt the 6" extended swingarm anymore and really notice just rolling on normal hwy speeds picks up much faster- Maybe 1 hp on the dyno if hat is important prolly more eual to 10 hp in real world gains
If they make a smaller battery for the 14 just one size down can be a couple pounds. I have a busa battery in my 1070 and it weighed 3 lbs more but they make a really dinky one weighs about 3lbs fine for the track not for the street.
Remove the tool kit,rear passenger pegs if you ride solo, cf bodywork? a little, really the tank the biggest loss. CF bodywork has less noise damping than stock bodywork so expect to hear more of your internals. I know not a 14 just some reference pics
A cf fairing bracket and aluminum sub frame when tehy make them for the 14 would save a bit
A lot$ I would estimate 75lbs could be removed but you still be 60-70 lbs heavier than my 1k but don't feel bad you have ton more tq.

CF bodywork that tat prick patrick sell OPP Racing-yes he is a prick still owes me for the repair of teh damaged lowers he sent anyway raw is light add the paint and at lots of clear coat cuz it soaks it up looks like shit without prolly negates any savings.
Now a tank did but that was another horror story

Saved almost 8lbs over stock about the same weight of dollar bills prolly it caused in damaged when the tank started delaminated and the crud got into my head,tbs, valve train. I bought this from quentin Robles who bought the core from Airtech than overlayed CF -he did not warrant anything. Was not an issue with race gas, I rode the bike almost everyday

$2000+worth of repairs due to that POS tank do your research on whoever tank you buy if you decide to go that route

CF mirrors saved a 1lb each-Green Anole does not come standard LOL! not the best view wearing leathers though

Wave rotors saved exactly 1 lb each, ti rotor bolts on the front pair another 15 oz. . I have been told mixed feelings on using wave rotors one from a well known maxton record holder I never have had any issues but I have read as a few posts from others with similar omplaints
I wonder if this lil bugger in another life was a motorcyclist?
P..S. Cat had him for a snack shortly after...

after that internals and more money or the little stuff with minor gains.
If I had the coin or one the Florida lotto i would have Harris the UK frame firm make a frame and lighter swingarm, custom bodywork, BST, change the speedo to an lcd with a cf bracket etc ohh add a turbo too so I would not have to figure out the airbox setup and a lil extra oomph

ricksgsxr, are those roters better regarding braking distance, heat exchange of hard braking into the turns, etc?
my 14 fronts work so well I've been hesitant to change anything about them, even the brand of the stock pads

the ones they are shipping me which are street meg and p/c 3 says weight 22 pounds. maybe brock got me a nice gift in there. :d
