Radar detector wiring

Where do you guys tap into power for your detectors? I would like to use a bar mounted source if possible to make it easiest and less wire.

Best off using the ign switch harness, located in the lower left portion of the front faring. Just follow the wires leading away from the key.

I used a marker lamp lead, always power on when ign is on, and its was really close to the dc recepatcle.

+1

Marker lamp was easy to get to for both power and ground. It's little easier than tapping into ignition wiring, and you can simply zip-tie your radar detector power wire along existing wiring bundles to get it up into the faring where the marker lamp is.
