it would be nice to have two so you don't have to take the rear cover on and off(lazy)

Stock seats are only about $135 new.

FWIW, I did cut out my stock rear seat area for a bottle to hide. Turned out great.

I bought a seat storage area from Japan and want to cut the seat to increase the volume.

Do you have any photos of the cut-out?

TIA

Kawasaki Pleasure Shop (no comments please) in Japan.

I'm going to extend the bottom of the tray into the seat area since I never use the rear seat.

Should give me lots of space.

Brent - Thanks for the links. I'm curious about the totally-hacked-away version, but I do ride 2-up occasionally. I'd have to buy a second seat to make that work.

Wayne - I remember seeing that tank enclosure a while back, but I hadn't seen the seat enclosure. Did you order the smooth/plain cover version? How much did you end up paying including tax & shipping? I only see a mention of black gel on that website, I wonder if they also make red? Is there a lower tray built-into that enclosure, or is it open to the seat when you take the cover off?

The inside tray is closed so inside stays inside.

The entire assembly comes off so the rear can still be used.

Since I don't use the rear I'm going to cut out the bottom of the tray extend it with FRP and cut the seat down to the tray to allow for more space.

I've only seen or heard of black. Ask them ,they're good guys, if you can figure the english they use.

306 for a fackin' SEAT? c'mon, the aftermarket racing seats are HAWT and I'd avoid that whole 306 issue.

Also I'd peak at ebay.com 1st

$306 isn't for a seat, it's for a storage compartment that replaces the rear seat's plastic cover. Still quite expensive though... but that's what happens when you buy things directly from overseas. It would be nice if we had a US-based option.
