Last I heard the NOS 14 (Mr.paint) made a pass just after we left
around 1:30-2:00 Sun ran 196 just before the engine let go,
no compression on 2 cyl. afterwards. He had 100 shot on it.
The turbo 14 ran 194 on second run, gave up trying due to clutch slippage, and no tools or parts to cure it.
Ship how would you compare Maxton to Goliad, better or the same?
I know Maxton has a bend to it, does that matter much, is there more shutdown there?
Do you think there will be alot more guys coming to try this venue next time?

Maxton has rougher pavement and a bend but a longer shut down (9/10 vs 1/2 mile)
No question you will go faster @ Maxton than TX.
The winds alone more than cancel out any gains one may think they get. Hell I overshot the Mile marker and got on the brakes too late @ TX...decided to go into the grass @ 10 mph rather than mash the brakes too hard...no big deal...but I can trap 202 @ Maxton and use no brakes by the time I make the u-turn @ 9/10!
Timing lights seemed too pessimistic on Sat. GPS showing 2-3 mph FASTER than traps! Finally synced up on Sunday, whereas Maxton usually has it 2 mph or so faster on the traps than GPS.
Either way, same gearing, etc I ran 190 and 192 into the wind on spray @ TX, 200 on GPS @ Maxton....and the TX runs had carbon wheels and ceram bearings!
I'll still come out to TX.....I want 200 dammit. But my instinct says Karl and Ryan would have both run 200-202 @ Maxton given their MPH was right by mine.

I had a great time this weekend with everyone. Sounds like I might have to make a road trip to maxton. Karl, road trip?? Ship thinks we can hit 200 out at maxton.
I'll have to see if I can make plans to get out there.
Good luck this weekend Ali.

Karl, 1427 out here w/a 150 or so lb rider ran 203.6 same day I ran 202.2 spring 06. I think you could do it.
Look at how my MPH was set up the same as Maxton compared to you guys on Saturday ;-)

I think you just had a bad weekend, winds and such. My friends have run some descent numbers at Goliad. One on a stock 12 went 192 and another on a stock Busa went 197.
Bikes were prepped not just off the showroom. The 197 hasnt been duplicated but they have been a lot of 192-194 since.

I was there on my blue stock 14 and went 177 on Sat and was first down the track on Sunday and went 181.570. Not only was the wind a problem with slowing you down, but leaning into it caused you to run off of the tall part of the tire and over rev. I ran about 5 to 600 rpm slower on my 181 mph run.
My buddy ran 183 on his black stocker.

Ozon, welcome to the boards and it was good talking to you in the staging lane. Those are great numbers for bone stock. I was on the red 12 with a blue bottle hanging off the side.
