Anybody know numbers for the various 14s that ran at the Texas Mile this weekend - did any break 200?

Nobody on a 14 made it.........the turbo busa got WAY over so be ready for the $hi+ talk...... :-)

but there was a turbo zx14 there..... and several NOS ZX14's.... and 1 shit talking 1bad... all that power to waste when a STOCK ZX14 ran 184 AND a STOCK busa ran 177

Something's wrong here. Either inexperienced rider, couldn't get past the electronics, into a 15 mph headwind, didn't give it all the gas or didn't know the secrets of LSR.
Was anyone there?

most them guys came with dyno tuned bikes... 1 dude on a red zx14 told me he had 215 rwhp and on 1st run a 161... after tuning on the track he later run a 181

Glad you were there. What does the above mean? Were there headwinds? What did the turbo and NOS bikes do?

Do not forget this is 1 mile and game over - not terminal velocity........ you run out of track before you run out of engine - I also believe at least on Sat - they were fighting head winds.

fastest nos zx14 was 191 that i know... and the turbo zx14 ran 194... yes headwind about 15 to 20 and steady everybody faced it.... some morning runs got done before winds picked up... what i was saying was sometime ppl's put aftermarket parts on and think they run better... when really they lost power.... just listening to a moded bike run down the track and hearing all the backfiring and sputtering.... then a stocker run down the track as smooth as glass.... thats enough for me to know... then the ticket tells the truth

The winds must have been bad because last October one guy went 230 mph on a GSRX and two guys went over 200 mph on Busas. What did the NOS 14's do? And how about Shiphyeey?

there was a busa that run 232 on sunday morning... that same busa ran 226 on saturday... i'll let the zx12 guys tell you their outcome but the best i think was 195mph

Goliad is only at 340 feet so the DA was low. Maybe people didn't have the right gearing. Did it rain at all? And thanks for the report.

no rain... 340 ft is correct... air was 18 to 24 from the meter my friend [1/2 fast ] had ... and you is 100% right on the gearing lots of riders started to tall...

I ran 182 n/a (stock engine) with 15 to 20 mph head winds and I was going to the traps in 6th gear and about 10,000 rpm's. 89 octane gas, stock gearing, pc, full akra and I weight about 245 with full leathers and gear. I have the option to change my gearing but I don't think it was worth trying with that kind of winds. I'll be there in October. This time I will be prepare, I just took a back pack with me. It was a good learning experience. Got to meet a bunch of great people that are as passionate as I am about bikes.

I ran 194, tied for fastest Kawi there (turbo zx14 from MD ran the same ... but maybe a touch higher than my 194.1, lol)
Crazy winds....I run consistent 202s @ Maxton and the elveation is in the 200s out there too....I only had one run w/no wind...and I ran it n/a like a dumbass, 185 with 205 gearing.
Finally decided to run 200 mph gearing and ran 194 with my leathers unzipped to my waist...no wonder I was feeling this parachuting thing flapping around! I was so zoned in with my tuck and eyes locked on the tach at 6th (11.7-11.8k rpms LOCKED) that I looked up, missed the mile marker and went HEY NOW WOULD BE A GOOD TIME TO START BRAKING! Took a 10 mph excursion into the grass to play it safe. Didn't wanna overbrake and tuck the front...no worries.
That venue is tough with the winds. I woulda hit 200 mph I'm pretty sure but really not much more than that w/out the winds. I'll be back in OCT and will bust 200 this time, fack that!
