Damn can this thing get any faster...1/4 mile numbers Made it down to BMP 1/4 mile track tonight ..When it got there we had a 20 MPH head wind and i was upset knowing that a head wind like that i could never get a good pass... My best pass before tonight on motor was 8.84 @ 154 ..My first run tonight with the head wind was 8.85 @ 155.... Lucky for me as the sun went down the head wind slowed down to a 2 to 3 MPH...... Burntout was there with his black zx14 and i was working with him to better his times , i was telling him that everytime i think i have Maxed out the ET on my zx14 my Bike tosses me a suprize and runs faster.... On the next run Burnout and I lined up together , Burnout red lite and as i left the line i saw Burnout in a 10 Oclock wheely !!!! I didn't see what happened to him because i was on a killer pass with a 60 footer of 1.38 ...I kind of left Burnout in the dust and didn't look back...Here is the break down of that run...
This was on the motor with MR9 fuel... Temps where in the high 70s with the humidity at 80% .... So the air was crap and the zx14 still pulled of its quickest pass to date ... Smokin ..

I got some of my best times at Bonneville with a slight headwind. I have a feeling that ram air might be adding more power then we expect.

SmokinZX14, Thats AWESOME times. How much do you weigh ,Regular?? Whats your gearing? Do you think you can still get in the 8's with your set-up with a 1.50 60'??????????

Good grief man. Damn am I 200% impressed. Are you still using the Maxton map that Brock has?
A few questions????
1 What RPM do you leave at?
2. With the extensions, is it easier on the clutch as far as riding out on it?
3. What tire is on the rear now and tire pressure?
So, with me at 200 lbs, you see no reason for this thing to not get into the 8's now then hugh?

I'm waiting for you r reply to all the questions........the view from the back never changes...with numbers like that I'd better get a good look at the front of your bike cause that could be the only way to see it after the green light "whoops" last yellow light...

I weigh 150 pounds ... Gearing is 16 / 41 ... With a 1.50 60 foot I have run 9.01 and a 9.04 ..

I'm not running the Maxton map , i'm running the track map ...
I'm leaving at 5500..
With the extensions it is much easier on the clutch ..I don't slide the clutch i pretty much just toss the clutch out..
Shinko Usoft , if the track is hooking good i can run 24 PSI ..Last night i was set at 18 psi ..The track was real good but i didn't bring my air tank or i would have put it up to 24 PSI...I have run it as low as 12 PSI if needed....
I truely beleave that at 200 pounds you could run 8s with more seat time... Everytime i think is zx14 is done it tells me different .... ____________

what is your opinion on 16/43. i have not put my tire on yet, was going to use up the stocker, it is a tire fryer right now but when hooked in third, it sure feels good, don't have speedo healer yet, just unhooked it. what are you using for a shift lite

Yeah Smokin', I have 16/43 gearing. Do you see any benefit for me being at 200#s with that gearing versus your weight/gearing? This thing is a BEAST on the street man. I ran two buds with '06 modded Gixxer 1000's and I left them in the dust of about 8 bike lengths and pulling had it not been for the thought of being caught by cops.
Hmmm. I might have to try the Track map too. I thought that you used the Maxton map one time and swore by it. Have you ever ran that Maxton map and ran good? What was the difference between the two maps?

i also did a 1st gear roll on with a modded 06 gixxer last weekend, buzzed the tire and hit the rev limiter three times, looked like a real pro! it was side by side and going way faster than i felt safe at ,but boy does he wanta ride mine this summer

Great job Smokin'. Last night was awesome. I think the 14 was a hit with the crowd with you breaking the sound barrier and me riding wheelies down the track. I saw a lot of people huddled in the stands afterwards replaying the video of that run over and over. It was also cool to see a Red, Blue, and Black 14, each one stretched, making a showing. That was the first time that I've seen more 14s than Busas running at BMP. I know Kawasaki will sell a few 14s this weekend after everyone saw your run last night.
