chain

I looked but could not find a straight answer. I want to buy a chain but is not sure what type.
Should I go for the oem or maybe a x-ring chain? What is the difference?

I would stick with the DID myself. I have stretched alot of chains over the years and this one is holding real nice and takes a beating. I am running 8" over and stuck with the longer DID. But they don't have the crush pin master link so I used a steel colored one no biggy. Just my opinion.

I had to replace the stock - it was shot after 3,000 miles and gave me a bit of a hair raising reaction to cutting the throttle at 145MPH - shutting down after a pass - veered to the right - thought it was game over. I believe that I also got a DID replacement - got it from Schnitz - asked for their strongest 530 O-Ring.... KSP

Thanks guys. Locally the people claim that the x-ring is good. They also say many of the new bikes get fitted with an x-ring chain now.

3,000 miles? Wow, maybe I am riding like a p*&#y. I've got a good bit of stretch left in mine still at 7,500 miles. But then, I don't engine brake hardly ever, I'm sure that helps.
