ZX 14 restriction
I just bought a 2007 ZX14 and was reading some articles that the zx14 is restricted to 290 km/h / 180 miles per hou. If so, does anyone know how to remove the restriction?
Thank you for any feedback.

Its fairly common knowldge that its 300 KM/186 MPH. And thats on most sportbikes, not just the ZX14.

You can gear up to get around it also. Went up one tooth on the front sprocket, which is about 6% gearing. Speedo is almost dead on now and it raised the limiter to about 197, which is more than I can do with my bags. If you dropped a tooth in the rear, the speedo would be even closer and would push the limiter to about 202.

I was given this by someone on the board not sure if it works as I have not tried it. But anyway here it is.
Hey ,the unit i have is an adaption of a bypass that was made by hardcore cycle out of germany it whas originally made to bypass rev limiters on 325I BMW,s and they reworked the wiring harness to plug into the 14 it,s called a {lie box}i guess because it lies to the crank censor. if you can,t find it through hardcore i can dig up my shipping slip and adress and send it to you.

+1 tooth on the front sprocket or -2 teeth on the rear sprocket will also do it. It will also make speedo accurate.

The limiter will come in at about 195mph w/gear change. Sorry.

From what I've seen, this would make the speedo read 3% low for most people. Stock the speedo normally reads 8% high. +1 front and -1 rear would put it at 0.5% high if I'm doing the math right. Either -1 or -2 in the rear will be geared too high for most people though, unless you're running top speed with some extra engine mods.
