Bike Tits Up, Battery connections loose.

Should have checked behind the dealer when I bought it, After a few days of setting in the shop it was dead. Couldnt ride, Louisiana floods were ongoing. Got the house, so been too busy to mess with it riping out carpets and such. Well today got arountoit. Removed the battery to charge it, and found both the plus and negative connections loose at the battery post end. Got it charging now, and think it will be ok. Must be my week, had to charge the Valkyrie Interstate battery also, my fault, left the radar detector plugged in the hot outlet for a few days. Couldnt believe I had two bikes down at the same time with battery problems......TB

Hey Tom, what do you do with the bikes in the winter here as far as making sure there good to go by spring??? I've been at work now for about 3 week, and haven't been home to start them, or anything. There both in the garage(ZX14, and ZZR1200), but I worry about the gas, battery, and of course because of all the moisture, rust. My garage is dry, but of course the air is not. Just wondering what you do in Louisisana for winter storage.

Well up here we get a little more winter than you down in the swamps, but not much. I dont usually do anything towards storage. I try to keep the fuel topped off more often, as moisture can condense in the tanks if low. If I am not going to ride for a month or so, I will add some Stable or Sea Foam and top off the gas and run it long enough that it gets all through the fuel system, takes a little longer with carbs like on the ZZR. The only time I did that was when I was down for the Prostate surgery. I try to ride each bike at least once a week throughout the year even if its just a shot one, at least long enough to get to full operating temp, and keep fairly fresh gas on board. Basically I just try to ride year around...TB
