SoCal ZX-14 Rider was just by my place and he left a happy 14'er because he's now missing these:

Another strange finding after removing the access covers on the air box was oil puddling all inside of the airbox
I couldnt tell where it could come from other than the blowby tube .
Weird

7 screws.....................did you drop one inside :-)

Oil...........I got about 2oz of oil drained the first time. It seems to be decreasing now. It comes in from the vent tube and drains down into the bulb on the lower left side by the fairing. Just swing the bulb out and pull off the rubber cap to drain it........

you can actually see it without removing anything, right on top of the header, it is not bad at all, it is not dripping yet! i stick my fingure in valvecover area and get a little oil on it.
exact same thing on my 02 zx12 except that was on right side valve cover.

Mine is going back in for this problem for the second time per my other post. They showed me the 1st head cover gasket they replaced and it looked fine. So the dealer is lost on this problem and said "we'll order another head cover gasket and call Kawi for advice".

And I used to laugh at Harley for sending brand new BS products out the door leaking oil.

Ha,ha,ha ..NO!

If you look close at the very blurry picture you will see the 8th screw hiding on one of the flies

Hmm ... i'll have to check that drain out .
I was actually curious enough after finding oil in Socal 14's air box that i took mine apart for inspection .
I found nothing but clean surfaces

Update -
The leak has slowed, your finger gets a little oil on it but it hasn't dripped yet.
No more smell from head pipe area.
Didn't do anything but clean the area.
9500 miles.

Sounds like something written about a 1980's era Harley bike hehe. You good with "finger gets a little oil"? I want mine right, of course I don't trust the guys at Kawi shop of being capable.

Dealer oredered another gasket for mine and a head cover as well this time (2nd time in for this problem). Hope its not something like the head itself is not right causing it as suggested in another thread.

oil leak-valve cover

If the dealer and Kawasaki are replacing the gaskets with the same gaskets that leaked why have them do the job? I think I'll take my bike by dealer to verify leak and create a paper trail about problem, Then I will sit back and see what kind of fix they come up with over time. After they fully realize and address the fault. The paper trail helps with warranty issues , that way if they have to work on the bike hopefully it will only be one time.

i went by local dealer yesterday and show the the leak and service advisor said that it should not do that, NO SHIT! anyway he told me that they are down to one mechanic and he is going to get married this week so it will be couple of weeks before they can do anything!!
he actually was nice enough to tell me to take it where i bought the bike from( too far away, i bought there because of zx14 availability).

I'm not saying that any oil leak is acceptable, Of course I want it right. I was just saying that the symptoms are slowing! I havent taken it in yet because I'm riding it everyday, hate driving the 10 mpg truck in traffic. Doubles or triples my time to and from anywhere.
