Rich guys and their cars

So... My wife (girlee) and I are on our way to her dads in Scottsdale a couple of days ago. If you do not know Scottsdale is a rich person's heaven. Not unlike Scarsdale in NY or Lake Forest in Chicago. It is the only place I know that you can go to this one carwash and see a Mercedes AMG SL 55 next to a Porsche 911 Turbo next to a Ferrari 430 spider all in the same row at one time. While rich mans cars are not a great interest of mine (mainly because I can not find room in my budget for one) I have had the opportunity to drive a few. An Aston Martin DB7, Mercedes AMG SL55 and Porsche 911 are all on that list.

It never ceases to amaze me how much these guys like to race bikes. Last weekend it was an Aston Martin Vanquish. Now this is a really nice car and pretty fast too. With 520 Hp and weighing in at 4045 lbs. It has a Hp to Wt. ratio of 7.77 lbs per Hp. Not bad ? But no where near 5.15 Hp to Wt. ratio of my bike with me on it!!! Now it is much closer to my wife's ratio of 7.12 with her on her SV 650. Gotta love math!

Maybe next time I will set up a consolation match :P
At least up to 100 mph or a ΒΌ mi ?

Love it!

Couple of vipers and c-6's in town cruising around one night.

Theyre lined up 3 wide at the lights and I pulled behind them.
Give the 14 a good blast of throttle and everyone's heads snap to see WTF that is LOL
its a megaphone hangin on the end of 220 crank HP DOODS.
one viper owner too stupid to realise who he plays with, wants to try the 14!

The results...
Put it this way...
His beautiful blonde GF asked for a ride when we were done!

He gets all asshole about it, takes a sucker punch at me and I end up knocking him to the pavement!

Dood ... your slow....aaaaaand weak!

Yup, they get all personal when a $15,000 bike shits all over theyre $100,000 cars.

You must be talking about way north Scottsdale.

Rooselevelt/Hayden area in Scottsdale isn't all that grand.

Anyone else from the Phoenix area? Would be nice to get some 14's or whatever together and go riding.

Years ago I always had this from the other side. Back in the dark ages, every time I was driving my Testarossa some squid would want to play, they would chase me, taunt me and hardly ever go away. I had sport bikes too so I knew I couldn't outrun a big sportbike on acceleration anyway, only at top speed could I run away.

Now I get what you guys get, I had some idiot in a Subaru WRX try to pull the trigger on my 14 . . .

I live in Scarsdale NY and I have to say , these guys and their 100000 cars are a pleasure to dust. One thing though, A mercedes something or other, I didnt take seriously enough to look....actually stayed close after a stop light takeoff...must have had something under the hood...stayed right on my ass until 2nd turned to third...then I shrunk him in my rearveiw.

Here in town there are a few people with some really nasty cars, 1000whp Supra's, S-10's with 565 BB Chevy's ingesting 300hp shots of nitrous. There are some cars out there that will rip your arms off and feed them to you. Just a matter of getting to know the playing grounds. Everyone has them in their towns. Our place to go looking for it here in KC is, kcsr.org. . It's always funny to see the look on the bike guys face when an 8 second car comes burbling down the street. But I have some really nasty bikes out there too.

Hasn't Brock or somebody done some 8sec runs, stock motor and wheelbase?
Nobody's even got hot cams dialed in yet do they?
Doesn't that means all day long, run after run. Ride to the strip and back home.
Can you do that in a car?
Aren't most of those cars usually on trailers?

Raced one of those rich punks in a Ferrari F40 this past summer during the Concourse de Elegance even...this kid didn't look older than 18. Saw him at Pebble Beach the next day and chatted with him a bit, the little shit was 17!
We were side to side all the way to 130 before having to come on the brakes. The F40 was fast to say the least.

No stock ferrari runs 9 second 1/4 miles.
The ZX14 will toast em to about 160 MPH, if the rider knows how to.

My F 40 had 515hp stock, the US legal and late Eurospec cars produced more than the 478hp spec, with a Tubi 3pipe cat back 3 straight pipe header, conservatively good for 35hp.
So 550 hp @2950 full tanks. .35cd, no downforce. Eurospec cars weighed 250# less.
Gearing was close to a 14. Redline 7800 @208mph. Rev limiter at 8000rpm I think.
It pulled to 185-190mph pretty well. Acceleration was very slow after that.
I think Ferrari claimed an 11 sec 1/4 @125-135. 10 year old memory.
I wouldn't want to be racing a 14 stock or modded, even from a 100-125mph roll.

You obviously can't ride...can't blow off a 10-yr old 500 hp, 300 lb pasta maker with a 14? Stick to racing Vespa's.

Enzos 3100# @650hp drag limited by downforce to 217.
FXX Enzos are 2900-3000# @800hp, I think.
F1 shifters.
I think they advertise low or sub 11 sec 1/4 mile times@ 135mph, foggy memory, for the standard Enzo.
I still would bet on my 14 from a stop or a roll.
FXX mite be a problem from a 100-125 roll. Maybe that would be a race.
And I'm no Ricky Gadson.
Best time on my 12 was 10.33 @144. I was 1 tooth taller front sprocket. AKRO, no PC.

Uh...I didn't own a 14 during that run with the punk....if you knew the facts you'd say the kid didn't know how to drive considering the power his F40 had. Run was made with my RS Warrior 112RWHP/119 ftlbs torque. That F40 was not a stocker twin turbo V8, external wastegated HKS turbos. The punk did say it was running 800hp.

Now quit hating or I will ban you....last warning. Lose the attitude already...I'm sure everyone is getting bored with it or you could just as well continue to show what an ass you really are.

800hp F 40 is not likely.
At 2.9liters w/22-24lbs boost they were maxed out.
A guy here claimed 600hp remapped, disputed by our local dealer as unreliable, prob untrue.
Factory ground up built 9/10 scale factory F 40 racecars were 650hp.
