Exhaust choices

What's the view of owners; single can or dual.

The read end on the zx14 is larger then most other sport bikes and needs a system which fits it well.

That issue settled makes choosing a system much easier.

what is important to you? price, better performance, looks, sound?
everyone is different.

i have a muzzy c/f dual can with pc3 usb and no flies and very happy.
i like the look of dual cans on big bikes.
i had my body rode mine and i rode his zx9 and following him . i like the way my bike looked with dual muzzy from the back.

Depends on what you're after. If you're after as much power gain as you can get, as well as the weight loss, then a full system that replaces everything from the headers out, and is usually a 4-2-1 system is what you'll want. If you want a mild power boost (a few horsepower, no more than 5 to 7), a nice sound, and a MUCH easier install (some folks report having to move the radiator or other hardware to get the new headers attached to the engine) and you want to keep the dual look, slip-ons are the way to go. On the big bore bikes I'm a fan of the dual exhaust look, plus I didn't need more power as I'm pretty happy with the power of the bike stock) BUT I wanted a deeper growl, so I went with slip-ons and I've very happy with the choice.

Not to offend anyone in particular Brock who has contributed immeasurably to the ZX14.

Once I decide on 1 or 2 cans then I need to decide on high or normal positioned cans.

I'm not particularly looking for power just a bit more nasty sound then the choked one coming from the stock cat mufflers.

On my ZX12 I had the single Yosh RS3 and liked it a lot.

I want to stay away from too much shiny stuff and so will probably go the CF cans and perhaps glass coat the pipes unless they're Ti

I kinda liked the Akro on the ZX10 but it doesn't suit the ZX14.

The duals have a deeper sound while the single is a bit more "buzzy".....but still OK.

when your girl sings back at ya in bed she 's happy right?

well, how do think your bike feels when it's all stiffled up?

High mounts will hurt performance. and the slip on duals don't make much HP difference no matter what kind, the stock header configuration sucks ass!
The only one making full duals is yosh from what i understand, and they're dual system is almost exact copy of the stock exhaust without cats...

Your not a poser are you?

I mean you have owned a v max before? Now you own a 14?
and your not worried about performance?
then why did you buy these bikes unless it was to pose?

Yeah I can see it now, Vmax wayne gets spanked around town by lietr bikes and busas, and we all look like we bought lame bikes...
cause your a poser.

BTW the smeg is only 5 db louder than any afetermarket dual at idle and undre low loads,
and then it becomes 20 db louder when hammered....
the noise would never bother you because poasers don't twist it anyway! :P

If I was to do it all over again , it would be for the same reason... HP
thats why I own the worlds most powerful production bike. Period.

Brocks smeg for ultimate power and sound.
Brocks Gen 3, or ti force low pipe for the power and to please the nice people who are on the phone, so they CAN"T hear me and they CAN run me over!

My loud pipe has saved me the trouble of being cut off many more times than I can count.
guaranteed... stock exhaust=cut off and left handed at least daily.
since installing the smeg... 4 times in 6000 km!

Oh and the same people who will dislike you for havingh a loud bike are the ones on their cell phone cutting off bikers ...

Fuck them. phones were meant for homes.

BTW smegs are not buzzy when 1352 cc of Kawi pushin fumes out them!
Low deep rumble, or at high rpm... banshee growl!

I know what you mean by buzzy, the 600's peddaling around town sound like shit no matter what you put on them... like hornets.

There is no mistaking what you hear from miles away when i rip her guts open to 11, 000 rpm

+1. The BIGGEST thing I noticed about my bike after going to the 2Bros CF Pipes was the BIG lack of heat. I can touch the pipes right after I get off the bike and not burn myself, as opposed to still being able to burn myself an hour later with the stock cans. Not to mention she also RUNS cooler now that she isn't bottling up all that heat in the pipes with the cats in there. Plus she sounds badass now as well. Not everyone needs to take an already MONSTROUSLY potent bike and make it more potent. Some of us are happy with how nasty she is already, so a full system isn't needed.

Dowhatchalike. It's your bike.

Those are the reasons I did mine. The heat dissipation with carbon duals is really great...and very welcome after I burned the hell out of my leg with the stockers...

nO BITES!

awwwww, what nice gentlemen you are with your quiet bikes!

really, as most of you guys know, I usually dont speak out like such an asshole,

I really have a hard time with spending more cash on a bike, only for cosmetic changes.
I expect performance and the best bang for the $.
Different strokes I guess.

I'm not one of those discriminating bikers though.
I'll still wave as i pass by, even if you don't.

Enjoy your steeds and ride safe gentlemen
