They were thinking the same as Kawi with the butcher system on the new Z1000, who leaves the stock exhaust on?
The only reason I can see as justification for the stock exhaust systems is the manufacturer can pass emissions. I doubt they design these aweosme bikes with such chitty exhausts because they think they will sell more bikes!?

I disagree with the two big bores being a poor marketing strategy. You know Zooks Busa boys are waiting for the new Busa. So why buy an '07 when you can get the latest and greatest about 8 months later? This brings up the concept of liquidating some of those busa motors that aren't going to sell anyway. I guess this is Sakis way of cleaning out the closet. I'd bet money, '07 will probablly be the worst year for Busa sales ever. And with the intro of a new Bus in '08, their sales are gonna skyrocket...plus they've managed to get rid of a bunch of extra busa motors. Sounds pretty damn slick if you ask me.
Question is, how detuned will B-king be? I'll be that there ain't a whole lot of difference between it and the current configuration. Why spend the money detuning it when all that that they need to slow it down can be done with factory bolt-on ECU's/timing/ and a huge muffler to increase wind drag? Zook knows people will yank this stuff off and go aftermarket anyway. Once again, the aftermarket will still be able to use all those stockpiled busa parts.
The good thing about it, I think we will see the new Busa way before its released. I don't think that Zook will sit on the Busa like Kawi did. I think they will push them out to the MULTIPLE aftermarketers so they can start making the stuff people want. Face it, the Busa aftermarket will Explode compared to the 14.

Shouldnt be a big deal about it being a slightly tuned down 'Busa engine, who's ridden a naked bike and wished for more above 140mph? You'll be straining to hold on and you'll already be lying as flat as you can with your belly on the tank...siightly detuned should be just fine especially for the market target which is in Europe that will more than likely use the bike as a daily driver and not as a "big boy toy" like many of us to in the USofA and solely fixated on its top speed and total power output.
I've got a feeling this bike will sell juuust fine in the old country...

+1, Suzuki has plenty of 'busa motors they need to do someething with before they break out the new engine. Look how many jap nakie bikes have been using older engines such as Kawi Z1 with the ZX9 motor, Sazook with the TL motor, Honda with the 919 motor... I think 'zook is about to offer the bike I'll sell the 14 for sooner than later

I like the design of the B-King.... minus the exhaust which can be easily changed.... i like alot of the modern bikes... still love the way the Busa looks.... obviously love the ZX14 looks... Triumphs 675 looks hot to me... R1..looks stealth... saw a 07 Blue & Silver Honda 600RR i loved too..

This bike is positioned as a FZ-1 / ZRX-1200 / Honda 919 / BMW killer and possibly a usurp for the new Yamaha V-Max. Looks top-heavy and busy. Tail section is cluttered like most modern bikes, and of course the exhaust is terrible, thanks to the mile of catalytic converters stuffed in there. I think there will be a lot of drag racer or stop-light racer appeal, for the simple fact that there are years of Hayabusa after market internals on the shelf ready to be installed on day 0, and turbo fitments will be a non-issue. Hell, there might even be a S/C kit available for it, that would be a HOOT.
I sort of like it - then again, the biggest detractor is the Suzuki stigma. You don't know if Suzuki will run and hide if shifting forks bend and it starts jumping out of gear, or what corners they cut to get the profit point where they like it. I would like to think that Kawi will answer with another ZRX-1200, based on the previous ZX-12 engine.
In any event, this bike's demographic will have greater appeal to the seasoned, older riders. The typical immature retard stereotype that are common to the hyperbike/sportbike segment (as viewed by the layman) won't even likely bother with the B-King. I have mixed feelings about this new bike, I guess when it's released for general consumption we'll all have a better feel for it's place and niche.

Well, the majority of the people on this forum have at one point or another thought the 14 was hideous, and were pissed at Kawi for making such an ugly bike but the bike tended to grow on them sooner or later. I must admit, being a 12R owner previously I was a bit perturbed by the new body design but I have also grown to like it. There is something about naked bikes that I just can't freaking STAND though, no matter how hard I try to see the benefit and/or the inner-beauty of that style. I think naked bikes are ALL ugly, and though I am not one to knock another's loves, will someone please explain to me what is so great about naked bikes? What makes them so popular?

Word is that Kawi has a new big bore naked bike in the works using the 1400 motor , much like the B-King and new proto-type Vmax platforms. Can you say "ZL1400 Eliminator". Hell yes, I'd love to see it! Straight Line Rocket for sure! If they build it, I will buy. Anyone else?

i think suzuki should have made those mufflers a little bigger, u can use those S.O.Bitches as weapon. . i bet u that would be a major distraction if i would be driving or riding behind that bike.
