Airbags for bikes
Hi!
Check this out http://www.automotorsport.se/nyhetsmall.asp?version=36251
I can give you a short resume - since most of you probably don't read Swedish. This was a test performed by the German organization ADAC. It was done two times, one with and one without an airbag on a Honda Goldwing. The bike was travelling at 40 mph straight into the side of a Volkswagen Sharan. The outcome show that the driver' would have survived the crash with broken lower legs when the bag was active, but even this could been avoided with a different shape of the windscreen, in which case the driver most likely would have been able to walk away from the accident buy his own. Without the bag he was killed or paralysed due to a broken neck. The article also states that the bag would save the rider even if the angel was deviating from 90 degree and also if the rider was crouched down. In fact the results were so good that ADAC now recommends all motorcycle manufactures to follow Hondas example and offer an airbag.

Can't find anything at the link, but according to what you said...I'd go for that before I'd go for ABS!..Now, if only they could come out with something to save you from flying into a tree...
