Front end rattling noise

I hear a rattling noise from the area of my windshild and spedometer pretty much at all speeds. I took it in for a 600 mile svc and mentioned the noise to the dealer. They tightened down the screws on the windshield but that didn't help. Anyone familiar with this.

Yup. Probably a loose tip over switch. Have it checked. It is located under the forward part of the windscreen. There is a recall for certain VIN numbers for this. Your dealers should check.

I can hear the "innerds" of my tipover switch rattling quite a bit... mostly while slowing down for a stop. No biggie... I know it's attached well because I torqued it myself, but the rattling gets my attention sometimes.

tink-a-tink-a-tink.... clicky-clicky-clicky...

It's a lot like the noise that the front brakelight switch makes if you tap your brake lever quickly.

CHRIS3232, I did the work for you and went through some old threads and found the time and date of an entire thread discussing your problem.... , for more info check on page 15 or 16 for a heading talking about a recall....
The one I added below shows the date and time of the thread. I did as suggested... I taped the tip over switch up real tight.. and I don't hear it at all. Also, be careful not to tigten the screws too tight on the plastic because that also can cause a buzzing...

Just checked mine..................1 bolt slightly loose. The whole thing is rubber mounted, so it moves around a bit. Those that have heard rattles in your upper dash, this is probably the culprit.

It kills the engine in the event that you exceed the maximum safe lean angle. Translated, that means that it kills the engine if you CRASH!

tipover switch

Rattle is caused from internal metal pendulum rattling aginst inside of tipover switch-located directly under windscreen-take windshield off and hold switch tight-flick with finger and you will here the noise-rapped mine with several layers of dynamat that can be gotten at most stereo shops, rattle is 98%gone.
