(the satellite radio might be pushing it, given the limited room and my desire to still have a decent view of the speedo and tach)
My question is, is this at all feasible? Or is that simply too much crap? Looks like there is a ton of options available via techmount...however, not yet having the ZX-14 nor the full complement of their mounts to test things out, it is darn near impossible to plan out. ____________

it's possible, but dont hold your breathe on the bluetooth chatterbox.

I'm not buying my zx14 till next spring...so i assumed that it would be available by them (since it is listed as being released Fall 2006). Do you have some info that would suggest this won't be out by next spring?

Hopefully this new model will be better. This is the perfect application for bluetooth. (so that your helmet/clothing/etc doesn't have to be tethered to the bike by wires)
Being able to tie in satellite radio/iPod/etc into the unit sounds very appealing to me.

Bluetooth technology blows, but who knows, at a consistent 2' distance that you'd need on a motorcycle, it might be acceptible.
I like the features of the Collett 900... I have no interest in competing with every little family caravan on vacation on the FRS/GMRS frequencies. Been there, done that!

My Buddy and I have the chatter box units and never have any trouble alot of people talk about. We can talk for about 3.5 miles away clear. Never have had any interference from anything. Maybe we just got to good units.

Glad to hear yours work well, I also have friends who have them and no complaints. But I think there have been enough bad units out there that they kind of get a bad rap sometimes.
My main interests in the Collett boxes are:
1. 3-year no questions asked warranty
2. Waterproof
3. Private 900mhz channels
4. Smaller/lighter (remote battery helps keeps weight off your head/neck)
Fish - Have you thought about doing a Chatterbox/Collett/Autocom/Starcom/Baehr/etc comparison?
