MORE HP? Who is developing cams and headwork

OK.
There has been alot of talk about big bore, stroker kits, turbo's and such.....
Talk is CHEAP.

Who REALLY is developing kits to increase HP?

I'm interested in keeping the bore and stroke stock, unless I can do an exchange.

I really don't care to have the bike split into parts for months waiting for mods.

230-240 rwhp would be my naturally aspirated goal, or a well built turbo kit, with new connecting rods and pistons for good measure.

When old man winter hits, my " black betty " is gonna get a good kick in the pants!

Talk to Coby Adams, he's doing all kinds of stuff for the 14. I'd go with +3mm pistons, stiffer valve springs, custom cams, and some clutch mods, IF I was gonna do anything. Should see about 230+. Turbo is probably gonna be just about as cheap, and you can ramp it up for more power as your budget increases. Then there's always nitrous. That's what I'm starting out with, while the bike is still under warranty. When that expires I'll pop the cap on it, and do some Stuff.
P.S. Its the light blue wire off the tach, or ECU, For the rpm signal.

iflyphi , any ideas what these mods will cost? (+3mm pistons, stiffer valve springs, custom cams, and some clutch mods) I have been communicating with Mr. Turbo for ETA on there kits and getting conflicting answers. I read on zx14.net site that the stage one kite will bring an additional 60 RWHPs. The kit will be priced at 4995.00 and the ETA as metioned I got conflicting stories. I'm curious to know the price comparison with Coby's mods.

You know, I tried the light blue, couldn't get a signal off it. White/red did it for me.

Stay FAR away from Mr. Turbo kits....wait for a Velocity or Muzzy kit...MUCH better engineered and way more power I'm sure!

you really want to open up the engine...???
i have an extended warranty that i am willing to void if the right stage 3 turbo hits the market... why even waste your money on a stage 1? furthermore, i would never buy a mr turbo kit. i am ready to spend 10K on a velocity or, preferably, something engineered by muzzys.

edit: i think a turbo kit would be the only "mod" which i would do to my 14. otherwise, she will remain in 100% stock form.

Does anyone know if the cam sprockets are slotted on the 14? they are on the zx10. I will look in the shop manual today. My zx10 Responed real well to just degreeing the stock cams in, and going with a thinner headgasket. Went from 158 to 171.8 hp.

I think I got it on the wire, thanks guys.
As far as a Mr.Turbo kit, I have no experience with the guy, but I have some friends that do. They all say to stay away. One guy has his ZX14 there now for a stage 1 prototype kit, and it has been there for almost 2 months. My friends tell me that this guy probably won't see his bike before christmas. What a lot of people don't understand is that an aluminum pressurized air-box has to be fabricated for any turbo kit, and it's just not easy to do. I cancelled my Mr. Turbo order and am waiting on Velocity.
As far as the cost for the pistons, your looking at about $800 give or take. Turbo kits will probably be at least $6000, plus you'll need new pistons, upgrade the clutch, etc. Plan on $10,000 and you won't be disappointed. If you don't like the cost of this stuff, you could do 2 things. Wait 5 years, or buy a Busa. The Busa is like the Chevy of drag racing. All kinds of parts available for relatively cheap. I sold my 05 Busa with 220 miles on it and regret doing it. But I wasn't into drag racing yet. Now I have the 14 and am quite happy with it, but parts are going to be very expensive for the foreseeable future.

Now, what color was that wire off the ECU?? Oh yea, BLUE?? or is it Light blue with stripes??
