ZX-14 PAINT SUGGESTIONS

i am growing tired of looking at a plain black zx-14 and have been browsing the house of kolor catalogue for more ideas. as many of you know, i already have a chameleon zx-12 (cyan -> purple), so i am looking for something a bit different. perhaps i might go with airbrushed graphics, most likely tribal or something. i am still a huge fan of chameleon, but id like to hear some bikeland member opinions. this would be a winter project, so ive got some time to think about it. any colour schemes or ideas would be appreciated.
i dont think i will be chroming or powder coating the zx-14, just a nice paint job would make me happy (i think).

i get my deals on paint from http://www.hokpaint.com
i would most likely order my materials from them, they seem to have good prices.

i particularly liked how roaringtoyz painted over the foreman grill- looks much better.

I cant give much of an opinion because I like one color bikes...I think you should leave it all black and paint the grills and get the rims painted too...Then get the full pipe done in black...

All that bike in the picture above needs is a BIG LOAD OF BANG!! You know what I'm talkin about right? About 2000 watts of music. THAT BIKE IS USELESS!!!!!! That big ass back tire and that Jack Shaft Swingarm make it utterly useless for what it was designed to do. What a waste of a good motorcycle. Poser quality is all it has now. A good 636 would clean it's clock draggin all that jack shaft swingarm shit! And don't even think about going around even a long sweeper with that POS set up. Yea man!!!!!!!!! It's OFF the HOOK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My ASS.

id never get a fat tire or "jack shaft" swingarm (or any extended arm) because i like turns way too much. anyone else scraping peg on their 14? i posted the above pics strictly because i liked the paint job and the grills... and it definetly does look a hell of a lot better than the stock colours.
anyway...
i believe that this is ricky gadsons bike... the "NINJA" words are a bit lame.

lookin for pics of the bear racing 14....

tj- what are you trying to say? please elaborate.

Don't know what that "Ghetto" comment meant, but I'm going to leave it alone for now. Why are you guys hating on someone elses bike? It serves its purpose, and that's to look custom. It doesn't show how young, how ghetto or etc. I guess Rickey Gadsons custom painted ZX-14 is young, ghetto and will get it's clock cleaned by a 636.

I like single color bikes myself, that's why I picked the eye grabbing, jaw dropping, Candy Thunder Blue.

I bet some of you guys had IROC Z's growing up!!!

I'm not into the blinga-busa/ZX14 either, but I'm open-minded enough to ride to Sarasota and check out their shop

they make parts other than bling such as black stretched swingarms, swingarm extensions, lowering links etc etc

but ya, they are known for being king of bling and billet for the ZX14

I used the term "ghetto" to refer to an economically depressed geographic area of a city. I'm sure a small number of mature professionals have repainted their vehicles with a chameleon sceme. However, my perception is that the majority of such paintjobs can be found on vehicles owned by young individuals with low socio-economic status.

I have nothing against repaints and jazzing up the 14. I just think there are better options than chameleon. The original poster asked for opinions. Of course, the danger in asking for opinions is that some will not be what you want to hear.

Just for the record, Alsacorp paints are a nightmare to get right! Unless they've changed the make-up of their chrome paint I would steer clear. Had MAJOR issues w/it & it was quite expensive.

Since the word 'ghetto' actually refers to a jewish neighborhood, I don't know if I could see some goy squid tooling along on the bike. But what do I know, I'm just a mensch!
