Air cleaner We all know you get more power without the air cleaner in place. For those of you that run your bikes at the drag strip, do you ever race them without the AC? What's the chances of dirt or ? entering your engine and possibly ruining it? Thanks for your imput--

I pulled the air cleaner out of mine for dragracing and found a few bugs in it after a night of dragracing. If you wanted too, you could pull the paper part off the stock AC. I did this to mine...only made 1 hp difference with it in or out this way.

Don't think the risk is worth it. All it would take is a small bug (part) to screw up your FI system and dirt will do a number on the pistons, cams, valves you get the picture.
Further raceways are far more dirty than the streets. There are AC that are super thin invest the cash and do it that way. Just my 2 cents.

Please go to the KN web sight and tell them you want one for the zx14. I did and if more people do maybe they will speed it up .

Brock just informed me he drags with it out but in sandy areas, like Florida, uses a BMC filter. I talked to them (BMC) at Laguna Seca yesterday and they said they might have one by the end of the year.

BMCairfilter.com However they have no listing for the 14 at this point. I know that in 2002 I talked to a yoshi sales person when I was going to pipe the Hayabusa and I asked about air filters and he said stay away from the K&N's now. He said they are fine for cars... but their bike line has gone down. He said that the BMC is the best... I have yet to get one as I went with the Vance and Hines slip ons for the Busa and left the stock air filter for awhile... until I went back to all stock. Just the info that I have heard.

Vance and Hines That had to be the shittiest pipe made!!!
I made the mistake of putting a V&H 4-1 on my ' 85 Ninja 600, then it grew a hole at the collector, so I replaced it with a Yoshimura race pipe...Now that was the best pipe at that time!!!
