Tank bag solution for the 14 For you guys looking for a solution for the 14. I found one that may work. I purchased a Joe Rocket Manta tank bag. It's as if it was made for the 14. All the magnets fit in the right places and are all on metal. Take a look. It has a cell phone pocket, a wallet pocket and bigger pocket for other stuff. Good quality too. Oh, and it's 35 bucks..........

Will a spare visor fit in that, maybe a sweatshirt? Get's cold here @ night. I've got an older rocket bag(2 piece). I can pack for a weekend and never had a problem, except won't let me tuck in enough over 140

You can also see I've installed the throttlemeister, in matte black as well. It works pretty good and looks good too............

No, it's too small for the visor, or a sweat shirt. It's a small bag. The shape of the tank and with parts being plastic, I don' t like connecting bags. It will fit a hat, glasses and a bottle of water................

I was thinking about a throttlemeister, but wasn't sure of the set-up even after talking to them. What do you mean pretty good. I really miss the one on my old bike(It's hers now so I can't touch it)I used it all the time. I love the look on peoples face as I pass them @ 90, no hands, changin lanes, kicked back like I'm on a cruiser. Cruisers and cages alike. Not to mention it's a nice change for your whole body in the saddle.

have them on all my bikes...heavy polished...made a huge difference on my 10R and the R1 for vibration, but the 14 doesn't have any...still, works great as a throttle lock! Installed in 15 minutes on the 14.

I've got a cortech mini tank bag - works awesome - and just right size - and perfect because I can put I ID in the top and when I go through security - I don't have to stop to pull out my ID.

Vegasdude, what kind of carrying staps does it have? My wife is looking for one that wears like a backpack that is magnetic and when taken off, she can throw it over her shoulder like a bookbag.

The bag folds up into a back pack and a strap comes with it. all the flaps fold underneath and into the bag. It pretty innovative...................This bag works exactly like your post described! Also comes with a rain protector.

got the same tank bag but red and black....works well.also got the joe rocket saddle bags with two bottles of nos.....one in each bag.hides the goods real nice. and brocks pipe with ivans gizmo
and a 16 tooth on the front just the ticket to swat all those nasty 1000s that try to buzz the zx 1400. I just wave bye bye and hit the gas they dont know what hit them ....punch the air shifter and Im gone.had to lower the bike as my inseam is a little short. with the risers as my old back wont bend.

I've got the Cortech *super* mini tank bag, strap version. Works great, and there is enough room for a visor. This bag has a cool little "relief" flap on the rear (toward your belly) that un-zips, to open the bag toward you, but it has a pouch that extends *out* of the bag. It allows you to carry longer items while still keeping them "inside" the bag. This works well to give you the extra 1 or 2" of length needed to carry some longer shields (like the Shoei CX-1V).
It's well made, has a nice removable map pouch, and one of those little water-resistant holes for your iPod headphone cable. It's also got a great carry handle and a neoprene pad to protect your tank.

So...I've got a question for the tankbaggers on this forum....how does one lie down on the tank when you hit those 120+ MPH speeds?

Well, yes, it does get difficult. When I'm making "top speed" attempts, it's quite difficult to completely get out of the wind. After a while your neck starts to hurt.
I'm trading off the "high speed" runs with the ability to carry some stuff comfortably... I cary my Plexus cleaner, a rag, my wallet, phone, tire plug kit, air cans, and a bungee net in that bag and still have room for a few other misc things like a ballcap. There's no other good place to carry *all* of that stuff, so I have to sacrifice my top-speed comfort a bit. ____________
