My dog is bigger than your Dog!
This Busa, ZX14 shite is really getting old.
Any of us who has ridden a Bus and a ZX14 KNOWS which bike is superior.
Now I'm not putting down the Bus, but as someone else stated, it is getting long in the tooth.
And I'm sure a few years from now, Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki or even KHI will come out with something new that will cause all of us to either spend big bucks on our 14s to keep up, or we'll buy soemthing new.
Some of the Busa guys who post seem cool, no issues, no attitude just sport bike guys who are honesty interessted in the New Kid on the Block... to them I say "hello"...
Now as for the Trolls who drop in and slam my choice of ride... Piss off!
I don't go to any Busa sites as I really dont care about your bike, I Love my Ride and I ride my Love.

As far as no power below 5-6k... I think that is what has always defined Kawasaki.

Wind it up and you'll get the power out of it.

Dyno shows a low spot between 3000 and 5000, people say it feels weak in that zone........Here it what i can tell you ( bull shit !!) It may be smooth in that zone but far from weak !!!!

I have done to many roll on races to talk about all of them but i will list just a few...

Raced 5 modded Gixxers belong to my friends making anywhere from 155 to 170... We have races dead stop and from a roll... starting speeds from 30 40 50 60 in second gear and each time i pull them right from the start and never stop pulling them...

Raced 2 zx10 and 04 and 06 same out come as the Gixxer races ..

Raced 3 Busas all had more mods than me and the outcome was i beat them by far more that the liter bikes...

End of story > don't mistake a smooth low in feel for a lack of power ... anyone who that has drag race will tell you smooth is faster...

One last thing ... Thanks to the Busa guys that have posted with an open mind ... Your posts where very good and i'm happy to see you here..... smokin.....

I have an open mind.. I know there is more power in the ZX-14.

There are a few quirks that need to be worked out or revamped. I know Kawasaki is listening and will no doubt probably change a few of them.

You can't expect to have all of the bugs worked out in the first model year.

I had the first 99 busa in gold and silver, and I tricked it out to the point i added turbos. I felt that a busa tends to lift the front even on accident, especially when riding a turn in high rpms I would throttle out and feel loss of control at times. The 14 tends to be more stable, and you really have to force the front up if you want it to. I also tend to find more of my riding buddies are now litre bikes, which will tell you I'm not scared of handling with the lighter more nimble litres.
Went to bkie night in City Of Industry last thursday, and only 1 other 14 showed up for 5 min and left.
