I remember seeing this movie for the first time in '94 or so. Hell, it was six years old back then. And I absolutely fell in love with Kaneda's bike. No, it's not practical, and many would say it's ugly. But it represented technology and performance that in '94 (and certainly in '88) were unthinkable. So here we are in 2006, and we are still reaching for that ultimate machine, with the perfect blend of performance, sophistication, style... I think the 14 is a step along that path. From the audacious style of the front end, to the blended styling of the tail, the 14 represents a committment to a particular school of styling. Some like it, some hate it. And that's good. It's call 'disruptive'. The engine's smoothness is uncanny, almost electric...
Why the sudden dissertation?
Brought mine home today...
I'm still taking a peek at it every now and then out in the garage. Man, if nothing else, it definately has 'presence'...

Should be fun! I don't have a lot of mods planned for this bike. I've gone both ways with ZX12Rs in the past:
Roadrace - got the bike down to 470 pounds WET. Lotta carbon fiber. Ohlins on the back, Racetech did the forks. Fun for endurance races! 1270 motor made 195 rwhp.
Drag race - wheelie bar and slick, 1361 motor. First nine second bike I owned. Hell, a good rider that didn't weigh 245 prolly could put it in the 8s. ____________
82 Gpz750, 84 Ninja 900, 2000 ZX12R (Muzzy Big Bore Kit), *another* 2000 ZX12R (Muzzy custom stroke crank 1341cc motor), 2004 ZZR1200, 2005 ZX10R, 2007 ZX14, 2008 Concours 14, 2014 Versys 650, 2014 Yamaha WR450F, 2015 Ninja H2

Black Caviar. I like your taste, swft. Your title, the cartoon, the day to day unfolding of the 14 is fascinating to watch on my end.
To me, that kid is sitting there contemplating, "How am I going to ride another bike BBB is waiting for; when semi-pro riders are having launch problems on basically a stock bike (14) now?"
Is BBB waiting for just another, "Un-ride-able"?
This bike needs nothing. Keep it stock, IMO. Once you're over the "linear lag" syndrome, you'll understand what the factory already figured out.
Have fun.

Hi Speedgene - Personally, I agree that the bike is great stock. I guess I'm just getting old, but I like the quiet stock exhaust, the smooth pull of the motor. 70 mile ride one way to our sales office this morning. Great way to settle in on the bike. Did it early this morning to avoid a lot of traffic and be able to vary rpms on the ride.
