Brock's pipe and Power commander is installed
Ok, here are pics of the finished install. I took install pics but I'll need more time to post as I have to explain each photo. The bike pulls like crazy and the mapping is perfect. I tried to find a glitch and can't do it. From low speed to high speed there was nary a stumble. During the install Brock Davidson called me and said he had a new map for me. Brock emailed the map to me and I installed it. That's what I call customer service! The install went perfect. The pipe fits absolutely perfect. Just follow Brock's install directions and you'll be fine. Lots of power and it pull stronger from down low to 9 grand as I'm still breaking it in. The power is more linear now and is very crisp in the throttle, just the way I like it. Enjoy these pics for now. I did not have to touch the radiator at all. Just the put spigots on, then the header, then the rest of the pipe. It's a work of art! I should say that Mike Hansen did the complete install. Mike is a Master Mechanic and has tools to die for. I did drink diet coke and handed him a couple of things.........................! FYI, Brock modifies the zx10 power commander and there are only two plugs to mess with. Brock tests each PC before shipping on his own 14. It also comes with Brock's map and his full support.

Brock did great job on my 10R setup -- service is 2nd to none...he is a pleasure to deal with. I will buy from him again, just waiting to see about the LOW RPM fix before I start with a PC and pipes...someone here is testing something now.

Brock did my 10 as well. It was pretty sweet. The map he provided in the PC was perfect. I took it to Dynojet in Vegas and Dusty could not improve on it. So I just dynoed it and left. Brock makes damned sure that it's right before he sells his stuff and if he improves the mapping for different applications he forwards them on to the customers. You can't beat his service............!

The only thing that would concern me is that your pipe is rivited
shut. With a carbon fiber canister combined with the heat of this
big motor you will burn up the packing somewhat faster then
regular stainless canisters. Unless your real good at drilling them
out and replacing them I would like to know what you will do in a
year or two. ?? Nice pipe though...................

Those pull type rivets are EASY to drill. Use a sharp drill bit and light pressure.

Heat at the pipe is greatly reduced due to the lack of backpressure. The pipes will probably be cool enough to the touch within a minute or two of shutting the motor off. It is this way on my 10r. With the stock pipe, there was a lot of heat for quite some time after shutdown but after changing to the Brock setup, you can touch the pipes within seconds after shutdown. I suspect the 14 won't be much different either. If the heat was so great, the carbon cans would have a very short life and the rivets would get loose over a short time, IMO

Does the new map smooth out the 5K transition? Is there more power down low?

There is more power down low but you can still tell it's neutered. The rpms below 5000 do not rise as fast as 6000 through 9000 rpms.

Yes, and they NEVER will. No matter what fix comes along the engine will always pull harder at higher rpm.

Guys,
I will be doing more testing in the next two weeks for Part 2 of my Diary.
I will be addressing several issues including:
1. Power output at lower RPM's.
2. Additional low end power support via optional (switchable) exhaust componentry.
3. Ignition timing advance.
4. Extended rev limit.
5. Extended High RPM Performance mapping.
6. Clutch/ improved launch and life.
7. Gearing changes in relation to ΒΌ mile times and MPH.
FYI: we have not had a single carbon can failure- EVER. (We are VERY proud of this- ;o)
Also, every Brock's Performance ZX-14 exhaust system owner who has filled out our map support request form has been automatically sent our latest street map- free of charge.
