I could only guess at this point? You have a few sensors...one stationed at the nose(?), one at the tail, and the other plumbed on the FI system.
The guess here is; did one or all sensors take a reading in the rain? My guess is yes; all checked in with the ECU. What "pop" or "sneeze" happened, was a map change brought on by the FI sensor? Because these sensors are silicone wafer signaled, the vacuum behind the wafer, is reading a much wetter atmosphere? I assume the pull behind the wafer needed more vacuum to disturb the wafer, which then drops a different reference point in voltage, so the ECU can switch to a different map signal. Because now... there is heavier air inside the sensor's entry tube to cause more resistance on the wafer?
As sloppy as the transition is to change over to a different spray signal (more dense air = more fuel required) my guess is that the engine threw the "sneeze" routine before switching and/or re-mapping to a richer signal?
It was a sneeze or two, and all was well... correct? If it's still doing it, then there is an air leak in the intake system somewhere?

I will be all over the eastern US this weekend. I'm sure at some point I will hit some rain. I hope this is not an across the board problem, but if anyone is going to find out there is a problem it's me.
