quote: All this bug stuff can be avoided if you simply spray down the front end of the bike with ......PAM (you know the stuff in the can used for baking cakes, etc). Eitherway, just give the front end a light coating of it (a misting if you will) just before you ride.
The bugs will not stick and clean-up is a snap.
And you smell like a frying pan or cookies while you ride too... what a benefit!

Grasshoppers slow roasted by your radiator are actually quite tasty..............they do need a little salt.

Lochart Phillipsshows a Cox radiator guard for the ZX 14. Part number 113-1159 (black) also available in silver.
Not available yet, not surprising as the bikes have just hit the market. I have got a call in to see when it might be available and I'll let you know. I'll be getting one for sure. Might restrict airflow a tad, but so does a rad with numerous bent fins over time.

I use wash n' dry, but I think amsoil makes some too.
Its a waterles wash, which means you don't have to hose down the whole machine, then dry it to remove water spots.
I know it seems totally wrong to rub something into yur paint but truth be known I've used this stuff for 6 years now and it does not scuff!
The polymer lubricates the dust and bug particles while lifting them off the paint.
It leaves no swirls, just deep mirror finnish, and protects too!
Unless the bike is really muddy, or its time to clean the rims too, I don't use water anymore.
A bonus is it can be used on plastic, metal, lexan, mirrors and glass....
I can spot clean the bike anywhere without getting into a 2 hr ordeal!
And of course the bugs area attracted to it, with its headlight arrangement its the biggest most beautiful bug on the road!
I use this as well, works really well. I still use water though to get the big chunks off. Just the hose at home with no pressure. Generally use a good sheep skin wash mitt with a good car washing soap - Mequires. I cringe when I see guys blasting their bikes with the high pressure washers when i go to the coin wash with my car.

We have grasshoppers by late July, early August, they are 'armored' and hurt like hell if they hit any exposed skin at high speeds.......................years of riding naked bikes.
They also beat the shit out of your radiator. Anyone with a '14 come up or seen a radiator screen for the '14? Don't want to sacrafice airflow, even though it doesn't get that hot up here. I just hate seeing all the mashed up cooling fins on the radiator!
Site sponser Cox Racing is trying to get ahold of a zx-14 to prototype a guard. If you haven't seen their product, its excellent. I use their guards on my bikes.
Somebody in the Portland/Vancouver area will get a freebie if they let them use your bike to prototype their guard for it.
