Dyno Numbers
Anyone Dyno their 14 yet? I am getting a Blue one any day now. I am still torn between the 14 and 10 though and may change my mind at the last moment.

164rwhp stock? That is not so impressive considering the 06 10r power output.

I just don't think you get it....
POWER UNDER PEAK! as in Torque!! Note how much power builds before the other bike you are comparing it to.
Then think about this monster uncorked!!

Why not, the stock 10r on Brock's site was 140.9 hp

I've been hearing numbers more like 165 up to 170+ on the 06 ZX10r. MCN just published dyno numbers for the 14 @ 169. They also dyno'd the busa, BMW, ZX12r & the XX. All the numbers for the other bikes were in line with previously published #'s. You are not trying to tell me the 14 makes 24 more HP the the 06 ZX10 are you?

I'm not going by hear say, just log on to Brock's site and see for yourself, both bikes run on the same dyno by the same tuner came out 140.9hp zx10r and 164hp for the zx14, you can take it however you want, it may have just been a really bad stock 10r until it was tuned, just like all the reports say the zx14 is way too rich to make goodl hp numbers so 165 to 170 is all everyone is seeing which maybe down from the real numbers if jetted right for the stock pipes.

Ok, I'll buy the way too rich theory. I just went to see the 14 that I was going to buy and changed my mind. I'm gonna go with the 10r. The shop that I came went to see the 14 at had 4 dyno runs on a 06 10r. It made a low of 169 and a high of 171. Torque was from 79lbs to 83lbs. I just don't care for the way the 14 looks especially compared to the 10. Hope I'm not sorry. LOL Good luck to all you new 14 owners.

Here we go with another dyno thread
I'll just add my .02 here - 156 RWHP and 78 TQ on an 04 10R on a DJ250.
Anyone else think the hp numbers quoted above seem pretty high for the relatively non-existant gain in torque?
And, why wouldn't the 14 make 20+ more RWHP than the 10?
Dyno figures are all relative - lookin at Brocks figures at least show numbers on the same dyno even if the runs weren't done right after each other.

I don't remember reading or seeing anywhere that the 06 has more peak power than a 04, just a smoother and broader power band for road racing, but I could be wrong.
169 to 171 hp for a stock 06 10R! That's odd, I thought stock 10r's are only rated at 174hp at the crank without ram air so their dyno is only showing a 1.5% to 2% lost, that's got to be a world record, I'd buy the 10r also if it's putting out that kind of power to the rear wheel, most engines lose 8% to 10%.

The 06 10's seem to be putting out more power than the 04-05(not double digit increases mind you). Kawi seems to have cleaned up on some of the HP variations seen on the earlier models and added the HP in stealth mode, despite meeting more restrictive emission standards.

160 seems to be a fairly normal average for the 06 10's - your results may vary

There is a 13.5 % displacement difference and a 12.3 % RPM difference. The 14 with the greater displacement and the 10 with the higher RPM potenial. That is why the 14 cannot make 20 more HP then the 10. More torque but not that much more HP
