Dude if you work for Kawasaki just say so. If you're here for damage control we understand. If Kawasaki don't like all the rumors they should MAN UP and say something, and NOT thru some guy that won't even ID himself as their employee if in fact you are that. Without some way of knowing what you say is as much BS as anyone else. Don't take it personal because it's NOT. But if Kawasaki slips you or anyone else inside info and then won't allow you to tie the info back to them directly it's their fault for not backing up the info. Whatever the problem with the 14 release is they aren't making themselves look any better with their tight lip act. If they fucked up they should just say so. Everyone make mistakes. If it's some other outside reason for the delay they should lay that on the proper door step as well. They're only opening themselves up for speculation by taking the path they have choosen to take.

Gunner... I'm still unclear as to WHY you continue to suggest there is any sort of problem?
Bikes are shipped and people are riding them.
Why are you so obsessed, or are you just bored?

Now Fish answer this question for me, because you keep saying they are shipped which is a very broad statement. Shipped from where, because as of Friday their were no bikes in the Atlanta warehouse.

Not one person here is more devoted to Kawasaki than I. These are just my more recent bikes. My ties to my dealer are over 25 years long. He sees to it that I have clean info to make informed purchasing decisions. This board is sponsered by Kawasaki to a degree. A nice reassuring voice from them in an official capacity would be a great added feature. A voice that speaks the truth and is on the level. I don't believe any other Manufacturer is doing that and Kawasaki would be breaking NEW ground in customer relations. It's not my intent to piss people off about this situation, BUT Kawasaki needs to release some info in an official capacity to make buyers feel better. It's BS and 100% their fault that rumors get started and are spread. It's a changing world with the WEB and Kawasaki has a chance to step up and use this platform to set the pace for all others to follow. They can be a leader both on and off the track.
Kawasaki!! This is where we're at so this is the place to address your loyal customers. We wait, BUT only for so long
You may be waiting a while. I sell industrial equipment for Mitsubishi and there's one thing you can count on, if the Japanese go quiet it means they've made a mistake. It doesn't matter if its a tiny little error like someone missed putting on a valve stem cap. To them a mistake in their business is the ultimate shame.
It always makes me laugh. Everytime a new product comes out, it can be 100 times better than last years model but we all are paranoid that it has some dinky trait that will be all better next year. I have one of those "horrible 2000 ZX12Rs". I should have waited and got a 2002 it would all be better then. Rubbish!! Buy it ride it love it, unless you're Nicky Haden you're not gonna tell the difference.

Fish I'm NOT trying to be a dick. Check this thread I didn't start it. In fact I didn't respond at all until I was told the info that I shared. AND guess what I didn't ask to be told the info either. I wasn't prying into why the 14's are late or anything. I was actually buying a master- link at the dealer when MY man whom has very deep ties to Kawasaki walked up to me and said "Hey man did I tell you what Kawasaki told me about the 14 the other day?" I said NO WHY? He then proceeded to tell me about the trans issue. If it's true I'm very sad because I love my Kawasaki's. If it's NOT true Which I doubt my contact would pass me bad info because HE loves Kawasaki more than I do. There's been much speculation and unfounded stories as to what's the deal. I mearly tried to pass what I considered good info along. I would say I could care less except I do care what the problem is if there is one. IF there is one I'm sure it will be fixed at some point. I hate to see guys that sold their shit and are without. I guess that's the price one pays when you gamble.
Guys it's NOT my intent to piss anyone off on this subject. The Smack House is for that kind of play. Don't shoot me I'm just passing along what I was told. KEEP in mind that this is the Internet Please NO one slit your wrist over anything I post. I hope this clears up this situation and my intentions.

I was also told the info by my dealer and racing buddy of 26 years that the problem was no paint under the tank...That info he got from kawi warrantee dept over the phone ...I also didn't ask him , i was in getting plugs for my zrx1200 and he told me did you hear about the hold up on the zx14 .. And i said No so he told me ... I just pass the info on to the board .He also got on line to his dealer website and showed me how it works and showed me when he knows he will be getting bikes that he ordered. Fish makes me out to be the bad guy speading bad info when all i was doing is passing on info that a long time friend gave me that happens to be a Kawi dealer for 35 years... Seening the bikes still have not showed here (fla) it's looks like he is right and Fish is wrong .... I hope the truth on what was wrong if anything at all will come out later, i'm sure it will come out sooner or later and if it was a paint problem or trans someone should be nice and eat their words....

Regardless what the problem is/was/isn't, at this point Kawasaki won'tbe sending out second rate tat, so by the time you get one it will be sorted. To all those that received their bikes, congratulations. To all those waiting, should have them by next week.....almost definately.

1. I'm not here for damage control. I've been a member of this site way before the ZX14.
2. I'm not representing my employer in any way on this site.
3. It's no secret who I work for, but at the same time I'm not gonna announce it to the world. I think it's obvious why.
4. Speculation is one thing, claiming you know the real deal is another. Your dealer friend was way of base and was feeding you a line.

Guys relax nothings changed for 30 odd years. I waited untill the end of July for my 74 Z1 ordred it in January,I did the same for my 80 CBX got it at the end of June . Had to search for a dealer that had a 88 zx10 finally found one . No problems with my 96 ZX -11 or 00 ZX - 12 though just bought those from my son in law after he put only a few thousand miles on them. Thinking of getting a 07 zx14 but wifey says I have to sell one of my bikes first,I've never done that!!! Wait I did sell my 71 triumph for the Z1 but I bought one just like it 2 years ago in Ohio. So take it easy till your 14 comes, and you won't be able to take that shit eatin grin off your face when your riding it.

Fish...Bikes manufactured starting July 1st of each year are labled with the following years number. Bikes with BNGs start first each year, such as the EX 500, Ninja 250, etc. This keeps the assembly lines and workers producing in an orderly fashion, and allows the designers time to put final touches on the truly new bikes that start production late fall/ winter.
