Second time to the drag strip....

My first trip to the 1/8 strip netted a best of a 6.42 at 115 , that night i got 4 passes ..

Tonight i got 6 runs in and most of them where in the low 6.40s @ 116 .... My last few passes where 6.30s....My best run of the night was 60 foot 1.64 6.36 @ 116.24

My 60 footers are getting better with each pass .. Last week i was getting 1.7s and up ... This week 1.60 to 1.64s... My best 60 foot tonight was 1.60, but that run i wheelied and had to turn the throttle off and i bumped the REV limiter on the 3rd gear shift 6.40@115 ..If i had not have messed up that run would have been a high 6.20s run ...

Now i have a total of 10 runs on the bike ...Not to bad for 10 runs on a new bike ...Give me a few more weeks and i'll have this puppy running low 6.20s maybe even better ..
The bike has the power to do it but the rider needs more seat time for sure ..

DEtails at the track.

Can you give us some details. What is your wieght? What have you done with the bike. That looks like you would run 9.70-9.80 in the 1\4? Im thinking of getting a 14 but trying 2 get real world times. It would just be used for drag. Im putting my 12 back 2 street. Thanks rick

The bike is stone stock .....but i do run a strap on the front end.. I weigh 141 race ready...

My other bike runs 9.57 with a 1/8 mile times in the 6.20s and the zx14 pulls much harder on the top end .. So i hope it would be better than 9.70 or 9.80s ...

Read on sh.org that a jockey in Orlando ran a best of 9.58@146 on a lowered/strapped 14 this week.

The bikes are putting up good mph all corked up. These 14's should go 148mph in the 1/4 with just pipe/pc and -1 on the front i'd bet. A very good tuned one should go 150.

Congrats on the new torque monster Kawasaki!

right on smokin...
Pickin up the launch rpm are ya?
I'm having trouble keeping the frt on the grd in 1st,
Just when i have the clutch fully engauged, it starts to wheelie and i have to slip it some more.
Strapped and extended will do it wonders.... IMO.

Yup it is a wheely bike if you don't ride that clutch out a long way ...What really helped me was i set that little dail on the clutch lever to number two spot ... That made me slip the clutch a little more and still have the throttle pinned early ... I really think a 16 tooth sprocket will help the 60s and 1/8 mile numbers ...I'm going to 61 inches as soon as the parts show up and that should be a BIG help...

I really think i can get 6 teens with some more seat time with a stock wheel base.. The bike has the power and MPH to do it ......If i can just use all the power ...lol
