It will be a fast bike.

That's limited to 186mph stock. No faster then a 10r, R1, busa, etc and alot uglier. Okay, so its tired with the busa for the ugly award. Actually the busa looks pretty good in the right colors.

how far is KC Cadby's shop from you???

He's in Jacksonville isn't he?

Not sure, I've been to Jacksonville many times but never from here, only from Gainesville or Lake City. I would guess Jax is about 2 hours away.

Trenace,
I gotta say, you seem to be one interesting dude. Fanatical attention to motor detail, and fanatical attention to this thread.

This winter I am planning on towing my heap to Florida. Play a bit at Gainesville with the Florida #10 can of mixed nuts.

Can I buy you a Bud Light? Maybe get a ride on yr new 14????

When you going to Florida??

I've been meaning to do it for a coupla years; I lived in Miami 3 different times, wifey got a bunch o' relatives in Kendall. But the real reason is to meet the famous KC, hit Gainesvile, bike stuff.

Timing is very flexible, maybe we oughta have a get together at Gainesville and you snowbound guys can take a vacation in the sun???

That is exactly what I was thinking! It's good to get away from the snow once in a while.

Guy's- we have been making big displacement kits for the ZX-12 for 4 years now, why would you by a ZX-14 engine and put it in a 12 frame? If you want a 1352cc there are a couple ways to get there. 1270 kit with 4.6 stroke, 84mm bore and 5.6 stroke, same as ZX-14, or you could use the MUZZY 1427cc (87mm bore and 4.6 stroke) and then there is the 1483cc (87mm bore and 7mm stroke).

the only way I would entertain thoughts zx14 motor possibilities is if the cyl-to-cyl distance was greater than the 12. Other than that, just spend a grand with Rob for a 1375 kit on yr 12.

Bossman, I don't think you can clearance the cases enough.
stock ZX12....83.0 55.4
ZX12 1270....85.4 55.4
ZX12 1375....85.4 60.0 copied from karl
ZX12 1427....87.0 60.0
stock ZX14....84.0 61.0
stock Busa....81.0 63.0

Why all this excitment over a 1352 in a 00 frame?

Who would want a aftermarket stocked crank with offset oil passage,
IF you can get a stock, HIGH QUALITY, bigger stoke crank.
Add a 1290 piston kit to the stock 61mm crank and you have a true 1417 for ~$1000
without ever touching the bottom end, using stock cyclinder.
no spacer plate, and degreeing the cams not required.
MAN THIS IS HUGE!!!!!!
You could probably buy this engine kit for what it cost to have a 1375 built, even starting with a good motor?
my guess is around $3000-3500 for the first few

Let's not overlook the killer look of the 00-05 .

One other thing to look for in the new motor wrt the stroked motor: piston skirt scuffing.

There is a "weak point" on stroking the 12, and that is the length which the piston skirt comes out of the cylinders at the bottom of the cycle; like alot!

I have had alot of scuffing on all my aftermarket pistons (not good). My latest JE customs have a cut down skirt to minimize this.

With the 14's uni-case/block, I suspect that the scuffing problem is gone.

So it has cases like the zx10. To stroke or not to stroke, that is the question.

Bossman, sorry.

I don't KNOW that it has the zx10 style cases/block, i kinda surmised it by looking at the cutaway pix.

I HOPE i am wrong about it

You know, I really don't understand the bitching about the looks. I must be different, becasue I do not mind the looks at all.
I just care if it performs, if it does, it is mine.

It means everyone has their own opinion; and that's what makes the world go around.
I've bought bikes because they look cool, then I make them go fast. I've bought bikes that perform good, but weren't best looking and just lived with it. Most sportbikes are all so close in performance, how can you possibly go wrong with any of them. Buy what makes you happy. It's all good.

That being said, I don't know that I'll run out and sell my '04 10 for an '06. But I may add a 14 to the stable. I'm begining to like it more and more.

If the 14 crank will fit in the 12 cases I agree that would be the way to go.
