i hope so! there are bits of the styling i dont much like, but on the whole i like it better than the 636. mostly i wish they'd hide the cans a bit better. 165kg sure sounds good. where'd iu find that?

I heard last sept. that the production was scheduled to start on the ZXR-1000 in Feb. 03 as an 04 model. Didnt hear about a release date. But I cant imagine holding on to bikes all summer to release in the fall.

The swing arm looks weak! Not!!! Look pretty damn good. The exhaust looks like an under the seat version, radial brakes etc. The 165 KG equate to 363.5 pounds approx. If this is the new 10 it is looking good.

MCN (www.motorcyclenews.com) says that this pic is a computer generated mock up. They do, however, claim to have talked to sources in Japan about the fact that the zx10r is a reality. Supposedly more info is in an article in their 2/12/03 edition of their print mag.

Boy, I hope this is a fake. While I'm looking toward Kawasaki to introduce a bike that will unseat the GSX-R1000 as the liter class king, I'm also looking for them to bring out a bike that's good looking. The styling of the ZX-12R is great! I think for the first year of this bike Kawasaki should introduce it as a lighter, smaller ZX-12R look-a-like.

You guys want to be hung with a new rope. Given a choice of a beauty queen or as ripping smokin machine that will kill the GSXR 1000 I'll take the bike pictured. Beside the angle and color son't do the bike justice. If you want pretty by a Duc!

I see where you're coming from Zhooligan, but in all honesty (being the greedy little chump that I am) I want it all!! I want a bike with knock-out looks and knock-out performance. The new gixxers look pretty good and the YZF-R1 is a visual masterpiece. I'm sure Kawasaki could introduce a bike that's both a domineering force on the road and a great looker.

And speaking of Ducati, when are they going to get their heads out of the sand? If they get much worse, I'm going to have to put in the same category as Buell.

What I find really upsetting about this whole thing is now the article points to 2004 as the release year of this new liter class sports bike. The GSX-R1000 came out in 2001, right? What the heck is Kawasaki waiting for? By the time they release this bike, Yamaha would've re-tooled the YZF-R1 for closer combat against the now more powerful GSX-R1000. Don't forget that Honda's working on a 5 cylinder street homologation of the RC211V. If that bike is anything like it's race-bike brother, Honda's going to have the liter class in a strangle hold! This report already sounds grim with the weaker power figures, bad clutch, etc. Kawasaki better really wake up! The last thing needed is another bike that leaves doubt whether or not it's the fastest. This bike has to be a clear, undisputed champion at least for its introductory season!!

Well here we are bike fans. Another year of waiting. That's just great. This one better be faster than heck when it comes out. I hope you're right Fish because for the period of time we're waiting on this bike it better be all that and a side of hot wings! In several posts I've said how I'm saving money for a ZX-12R. If this bike comes out to be all it's cracked-up to be I may buy it instead. If you could own a bike with 160 rwhp at 475 pounds or a bike with 160 rwhp at 375 pounds, which one would you take? I'd take the lighter one. Whenever this bike does hit the street, it better deliver a complete knockout blow to Suzuki, Yamaha and Honda.

...as it sits in these photos, its might be too radical and ugly lookin' for the streetbike-buying public...'stranger' than the Duc999, although I've grown to like the Duc's looks (except for that bulky and weird-looking undertail exhaust) after awhile...the track racers who will race them could probably care less as long as it wins races...but the general streetbike enthusiast probably wants better asthetics overall for high poser-value...the bike's 'face' looks like an origami fish at feeding time...the ZX-6R/RR looks better...even the 03' silver GSXR1000 looks better than this fish...hey, I'm just observing...c'mon Kawasaki, get it looking 'right', like how the more recent of ZX series (12R 9R 6R/RR) looks 'right'...'the look' of a bike is one of the three main reasons why most streetbike buying public buy a bike, right?...asthetics, function, mfg/dealer product support...in that order...

Yeah - they tarted up some 636-ish front fairings onto a Z1000 (see the motor fins and plastic frame trim covers), swingarm likely came right off of the GP bike..

ZX10R Rumors Reach Fever Pitch
by dean adams
Wednesday, June 18, 2003

Kawasaki's much rumored and highly anticipated 2004 ZX10R is the subject of much speculation in the racing industry this week. Rumored specs have the new Kawasaki matching the Suzuki GSX-R1000 in terms of performance, which should put it right in the heat of a Superbike battle.

2003 sees Suzuki as the bike to beat in AMA Superbike but if the rumor chain regarding both Honda and Kawasaki's rumored enteries are any indication, 2004 could be very different indeed.

THIS WILL BE MINE AS SOON AS IT COMES OUT!!!
