O.K...................got that number for the push type fasteners...........

The G.M. part number is 10134407. I think they were about $5.99 for a pack of ten. Heh heh heh.......I would have paid WAY more for them considering the trouble I had with the original ones.

What specs are you refering too? The brochure did not list weight, wheelbase, horsepower or anything like that.............It did list things like high quality crank, rods, pistons, (forged) oval cross section valve springs (single valve springs by the way) forged chromoly billet camshafts, 43mm throttle bodies with secondary butterflies (which the 12R needed all along.......those butterflies really smooth out the throttle response),trick frame, ram air system, swing arm, wheels, brakes and a nice looking instument cluster. The front cowling is narrower and has less frontal area than the ZX6R.....................Sat on a 6R lately? They are friggin SMALL!!!!!!!!! The crank, primary and secondary transmission shafts are laid out like a Yamaha R6............ with trans shafts "stacked" vertically if you will.....instead of one behind the other........but the clutch is on the bottom of this layout instead of above like the R6. Keeps more engine weight down low. A better layout I think. A lot of thought went into this "little" litre bike. I think it will absolutely RAIL....................

Things like Rake/Trail, Compression ratio, Wheelbase
Seat Height, Fuel Capacity, and of course Dry Weight, make me believe this is a bike still in a development transition. Which I think is a smart move on their part "

and

"Let's say the Kawasaki does similar to Honda (in the past), and doesn't release their bike until just before Daytona, or maybe in super limited numbers to make the homologation to race. So instead of rushing the fine tuning, they could buy some time to make changes to the above mentioned missing specs and make it better. It would definetly be a smart move. Especially if they could compare some pre-production models like they have, to an '04 R1 and possible the new Honda. I would assume they compared in many phases to the Suzuki."

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My thoughts are exactly as quoted above. I don't think Kawasaki will finalize this bike until being DARN sure it is everything they intend it to be.

The 12R was released a little too premature and I think some marketing lessons were learned.

Agreed, I made a comment to the heads of Marketing @ KMC regarding the early release of the pictures and infromation regarding the 10R prior to Honda and Yamaha releasing their infromation. They just smiled and said yes. As for details you have to remember, their new VP of marketing is from Nissan/Infinity. They have been really sneaky about product details in the past. I am sure we are going to see a repeat!
