ZX10 "NO FLIES" MAP!

Ok, I just want to let all the peeps that are e-mailing me for this map to know that as soon as I get it done I will Post the results & Before & afters on this thread. The map will be configured for a BMC Street filter, NO FLIES, & an Akropovic Evo II pipe. As I have said previously, I will gladly forward this map to any & all that ask for it. But, this is not a substitute for Dyno tuning your ride just a temp. solution to ensure not burning up your engine. The maps are made about 100' above sea level so if you live at 1500' you will inevitably be running alittle on the rich side. Been real busy at the shop, as soon as I get a couple hours to kill it'll be done.

Stay Tuned!

Cool... thanks again zx1kr! I took the flies out this weekend, and part throttle response is awesome. However, I also did notice some fueling problems, that I hope the map will help with at least a base to work from.

Didn't get it done today, had to fix some issues w/ the 14 that came up. I will do my best to have it done tommorrow. I'm not riding the 10 until I get the flies out of it & mapped.

Guys, have a safe 4th of July.

Thanks for keeping us posted... I'm very curious to see what you come up with zx1kr because I definitely notice some a/f issues with the flies removed.

Hope you got the problem with the 14's sorted ok.

Yea, I just fattened it up alittle too much due to a leak in O2 sensor line. Corrected it today, unfortunately that problem ate up all the ZX10 tuning time. We try for tommorrow.

Yes, absolutely! that's why it's going on the dyno to correct the anticipated lean spot w/ no flies. My 10 is currently on the lift. I'am hoping to at least have it ready to tune today.

It dies at every red light and its slugish between 5 and 7k. once I get past 7k the responce is unreal but getting there is where I have found my only fall

There are definitely lean spots with the flies out. I believe that the fueling from 3,000 to 7,000 needs to completely altered from anything we've seen with the the flies in. I have richened the mixture about 5% across the board, and it has helped but I can still feel it isn't quite right. I'm hoping that your map, zx1kr, will help shed some light on this. What a/f ratio are you planning to tune to? 13:1?

Captcrunch, I am not sure why your bike would be dying at every light. Is your idle set too low, or is it running too lean? Have you tried adding fuel at the low rpms to see if it helps?

The map & before-after Dyno charts are in fish-Antlers e-mail! I picked up more hp on peak #'s also this could just be due to about 1800 miles more on the engine than when 1st tuned

Real quick #'s Tuned w/ flies 159.5 HP -76.5 TQ
Untuned No Flies 161.5 HP -76.7 TQ
Tuned No Flies 165.6 HP -78.7 TQ

There is an approx. 8% pick in HP & TQ at 3600 rpm FT.
There is a 20% loss of HP & TQ at about 2200 rpm FT but to be honest that is not a usable area. I can't recall ever doing FT roll-on's at 2K.

Cool... Thanks for your work zx1kr. What was the target a/f with the map? Was this with a Dynojet tuning link?

I wanna go out and try it out now... COME ON FISSSSH!!!!

No tuning link. I tune to optimum HP. I have yet to see a tuning link tuned bike out do what I do.I work w/AFR around 13.2 to 13.9. I try to keep it at the upper 13's even very low 14's in the highway cruising range.
The FT #'s are only half the story. It's the partial throttle where the afr was cleaned up. I didn't post those runs simply because It's more explaining than it's worth. But, there were increases in those areas when AFR was optimized. I took the 10 out just now for "on the road" analysis. Now, I went to that 2k FT roll-on & there is some softness there. I don't plan on ever doing that again so I'm not going to attempt to correct. Everywhere else it just plain rips! Although it's not like it wasn't ripping before. The gains overall were nothing like the ZX14 "No Flies" gains but, they were gains none the less.

What I like most about the results of the tuning today is my peak HP # is higher than alot of stock 14's & higher than most of the Busa's I've seen w/pipes, K & N & custom mapped.
Shit it was only 1 hp down from my stock 14!

I was just lookin around the site & I came across another post where someone took the sec. B-flies out of an 04 ZX10 & got another 5 or HP on top. So, that does confirm there is an extra 5hp to be had on peak HP. This is interesting considering that 14 owners are not getting that extra HP on top but, their getting a ton down low.

Im not sure how or why but it took about 1/4 of my packing. A friend told me that the packing must have gotten real hot. anyway got any input

The lean condition w/o flies & no tune wasn't nearly as bad as the 14's No Flies issue.
As far as the packing in your T-Bros. baffle? Dude did you take the cap off the can?
I cant imagine how that would have anything to do w/ removing or installing your flies.

No I didnt take anything off. The screen was still there but the packing behind it up around the cap was burnt up, I know its normal for the can to have a repacking every so offten but I only have about 2k on the bike. I would like to take the flies out again but I think I will wait to see what happens with the re-tune. I hope it is good results cause I really liked the way my bike ran without the flies

If you believe that B.S I'll be glad to sell you a bridge. There's NOT any extra up top with them out. Make the pulls for yourself just like I did. IT'S NOT THERE! Read that guys post and his claimed numbers for Hp and torque with his handy little ADD 18% across the board number for both Hp and torque. I'm steppin up and calling the BS! Speculate all you want about this situation BUT I personally tested it both with a MAP for the flies out and NOT out. There was nothing there. It's not a popular discovery because everyone wants something for nothing AS DO I, but it wasn't there. If you have a TRE installed on your 10 it's good for ZERO! If you don't have a TRE installed it good for power in the low and mid only.

HEY LOOK!!!!!! It's a Pie in the Sky!!!!!!!!!!!! QUICK grab it

I just Dyno tuned my ZX10 today! I pulled the flies & tuned it. I e-mailed Fish the chart of what my ZX10 pulled 1 year ago or 2k miles. I then ran an untuned run w/ the flies out & fully warmed up. It pulled 161.5 HP. I then custom mapped the bike for optimum power w/ flies out & my final peak # was 165.6 HP. Call it what you will but that is an increase to me. Yes, less than 3% but an increase none the less.

If you read the other post in question, that 18% diff. is due to the fact that it's a diff. brand of Dyno. Superflows' also read diff. than DynoJets'. But take a look at what he has done the the bike. He's got the thinner head gasket, V. Stacks. Now, I can't say much about the stacks but, I can tell you that bumping the comp. up will pick you up HP.

The point I was trying to show was, He picked up the same HP increase(after DJ Diff. correction) that I picked up after tuning! Which to me, carrys some weight.

I'm not looking to sell anything with this post. I'm GIVING the map away.

NO SPECULATION! MADE THE PULLS ON MY DYNO!

My dyno charts are in STD corr. w/ a smoothing of 3. I usually use SAE correction but, Brocks & Muzzy's us the STD so I'm trying to keep things in perspective. I'm sure that Fish will post them as soon as he gets a chance.
