The Diablo Stradas are tough!
I installed my 190 Pirelli Diablo Stradas with 5,400 on the clock. Now I have 11,000 and the damn thing only ate about 40% of its tread life. I'm sick of looking at it. I guess I finally found what I was looking for. I just wish they would make the front tire with a dual compound like softer on the sides. The front would hold on full lean it just does'nt have the same bite as the softer Diablos. If you put a lot of miles, and hit the twisties on the weekends this is the tire for you.

I put them on my ten as was recomended by the board. I have put 3000 miles on them and they are barely worn at all. I think that they are probably they best tires (for the riding that I do) that I have ever owned.

I know were not supposed to mix tires, but wouldn't you get about the same mileage froma front corsa, as a rear strada?

That's a good point! My friend has an 04' R1 and that is what he's running right now. Corsas upfront and Stradas on the rear. I might do the same set up.

Now I'm envious.
I tried the strada front givaway, where you buy the rear and pay shipping only.. for the front.
Well full bore or parts canada... neither have have my tire in stock...
I cancelled the rear purchase .. I got so pissed waiting after 2 months ... for tires!

I don't know about the softer tire up front. My last set of tires were Continental Conti-Force Max which were pretty good tires (lasted almost 8000 miles). The only complaint is that the front wore out before the rear. I could have put more miles on the rear when I replaced them but the front was getting too scary.

That's very interesting, this is the first time I've heard bad thing about the Stradas. You can't compare it to a supersport tire. As far as sport touring buns you can't beat it.

I went for the Strada Promo, Thank you Fish & Pirelli for saving me some dough! Took almost two months to get them, but I am loving them. Perfect tire for me, 80% commuting, 20% weekend touring. I probably don't push them anywhere near their limit, not too curious to find it either. Have not tried them in the wet yet, hope they are Ok. I'll be riding til late fall in cold, rainy BC weather.

I've already done the pushing to the limit for you. You can push these tires to the limit until they start to "fold-in" on the edges. It grips like the Diablo (well almost), and its hard to hydroplane.

FBA, i'm hardly surprised at this for one simple reason: one of the main points Pirelli stressed when we got our first set was that they were carefully designed as a matched set for rain performance. notice the lack of groove inthecenter of the rear? that's only possible because they made the front raelly suck the water from the road, so the rear doesnt have to deal with hydroplaning.
don't imagine that would effect the dry performance much tho. nevertheless, it seems liek a bad idea to me to evaluate a tire without a matched set.
