Polish for satin paint (Titanium) ??
This topic may have been covered so apologies if this is a repeat.
Looking for a good polish for the satin finish on the ZX10R 2005 Titanium colour.
Also, any recommendations on a possible polish that removes light scratches without flatting (POLISHING) the satin finish on the lacquer. Most products seem to be too abrasive.
Any thoughts? Please only products tried and tested, can't risk spoiling the paint work.
Thanks

Wash and let dry only. No polish for it. Also once it is scratched it stays scratched. Nothing you can do about it.

you can polish scraches out of any paints clear coat as long as the scratch is not all the way to the paint. You have to use a soft towel and dont do wax on wax off, just go back and forth. but any spray polish will work. try an old soft t-shirt, rub hard and keep your rag wet with water and polish, remove the left over polish with the other half of your T-shirt
hard work but it can be done

If you do this on the Ti colored Kawasaki paint it will look look shit. That Eggshell clear they use isn't intended to be polished on. I do agree with what you posted for 99% of all situations. This just happens to fall in that 1% deal.

I second that!! Never use a cutting/polishing compound on a satin finish, it's the lacquer that gives the satin look, if you cut back you flatten the top coat and it becomes a gloss finish.
What I am after is something like Active X from Meguiers, this removes swirls and light marks without cutting back with an abrasive. Just wondered if anyone had tried any thing with success.
I agree deep scratches are a lost cause, but I am looking for a polish that can remove fine blemishing.

lastman,
There are only 2 way to deal with scratches, one is to polish them away by cutting into the paint. two is to fill them. Either one will leave the surface shinier than that satin finish you have. There are some paint etching products out there that actually dull the paint. One is liquid sand paper, another is paint etch. But that may be risky and would have to be experimented with. It is almost like you need a weak glass beading process that doesn't remove paint, just dulls the finish.
