I would like to know what bulbs he used. Are they an H4 style with highs and lows? The relay and wiring thing is a cake walk.

FAAAAACKIN' KAWASAKI should've done this in the first place....conspicuity with headlights for most of the 'wiser' street rider....benefits in the day (better high-beam output)...benefits at night (lees extreme light-pattern cut-off....especailly when banking in a turn up a mountain with low-beam on approaching on-coming traffic)...and it does look 1000% better in my humble oipinion.....the guys at the motorcycle manufacturers should ride in the real world more and talk to the experienced street riders to appreciate what some of us are talking about instead of guessing what we'd like...it is a street bike, is it not?

...you wanna dedicated race bike?...do what Harley Davidson did with their purpose-built V-Rod VRXSE DESTROYER racebike and charge accordingly!...and let the guys who want a race bike for the street street-mod them to their liking, not the opposite....

I found that if you adjust the beams up higher than what they come from factory that it makes a world of diference. I adjusted mine up quite a bit higher than stock.

I can't get mine to adjust my low beams up and have had no luck. Mine is way too low but I have been looking for a way to get H4 bulbs into the H9 flanges. Or find someone who makes something like that. That is one of this winters projects. Again the wiring and relays are a cake walk, but the bulbs are not.

The lenses were design to throw a specific beam. I just wonder if you put a dual filament bulb in if the beam would be the correct pattern. It seems like the high beam lense would still be a high beam even when the low filament is glowing.

I don't think it be a problem at all. The H4 has a small cover to reflect the beam up that effectively cuts off the top of the beam at the bulb. You would be able to adjust the beam up and really get some good highs.

you are correct on that. no matter what bulb you put in it's still the high beam. waste of money for this "upgrade" while you blind others at night.

Not true, the part of the beam that would blind the oncoming driver is cut off completely. I have already put an H4 bulb in and and the beam was cut off perfectly.

the high beam reflector will not change on what bulb you put in it.

The high beams will stay the same although they end up being adjused up which shouldn't hurt.

I got the conversion with harnesses and new Xenon bulbs in the mail yesterday from Adam ; package and harness and all included looks very proffesional; comes with detailed instructions even. Does need some adjusting of the beams as per instructions to level both lights evenly . I Think I can find an acceptable compromise that will work as far as adjustment goes . can't see a problem with this mod . At $60.00 after sending back old harness is well worth the money to me... look forward to cruising with both headlights working together ... can report my results after I install but I can't t forsee any dissapointments myself...

Have fun!!

He mentioned in the e-bay offer that a chance of burning up a harness is possible; just a heads up .

his relays and harness are all assembled to work already.

Just info in case it avoids an accident. not saying it can't be duplicated.

I am a electrical engineer and don't mind a blue collar craft person puting this together. I welcome a proven design for the little money spent. I'll just install and enjoy.

Kawasaki should know by now not too many folks like just one low beam or uneven high beams I would hope. Even if this mod does not give 100% symetry it should be a huge improvement towards it.

Me too.

And thanks for the info about the bulbs. I am sure you will see what I was talking about when I said it cuts off the top of the beam.

The relay thing is a piece of cake.

UPDATE: The kit I have purchased will have bulbs of more intensity than what I informed in my post above; should have them in tommorow or next day. I can detail info then.

Also have had to struggle some with mod as the relays crowd available space a bit more than expected; spoke with Adam and I hope to sort all out to ensure it all fits. More work than expected so far but hope to work out. Not exactly a perfect fit to work with but replacing wires at worst may be the solution. Will see..

Bulbs should provide much more lighting than stock.

Adam has been willing to work with me and is trying to give a good product ; His mod still needs fine tuming like ideal wire lengths to fit ZX-10R perfectly...most of his mods have gone to other bikes like the 636..

I don't doubt he has spent a fair amount of time just putting harness together; kinda a pain to re-wire harness in but is do-able.

Plan to give bottom line results later ; if any questions let me know.

8 degrees this morning ....but should have all installed soon as the day warms up I expect.

I recieved two bulbs in the mail from Adam yesterday ... one of the bulbs had broken and he had sent me two Halogen gas filled H4 bulbs to tie me over. Now I have the bulbs meant for optimum performance with this kit from Adam. They are Xenon (blue color) gas filled and are supposed to be newer technology and much brighter white than the Halogen gas filled.

Look forward to blinding the other guys with the cyclops disease and perhaphs leaving any R1 owners wondering ..how did I do that.. that is assuming I wont melt anything on the 10R hehe.

Nah...Should be alright...kit has also an inline fuse as it hooks up directly to the battery.

Thats all for now.

This reminds me of when I had my 954. A friend of mine got the same exact bike that I had. He didn't think the headlights were bright enough so he bought some of those high output blue bulbs for it. They were brighter than the stock bulbs BUT he had to constantly replace them for they would blow out often. I put over 24,000 miles on my 954 and it still had the original bulbs in it when I sold it. I found that the more you mess with a bike the less reliable it will be. I hope that your kit works great and you have no problems but I would be afraid to try it. Does the kit make permanent changes so that you can't go back to stock if it doesn't work out (like having to cut the headlight assembly to fit the bulbs in)? Good luck!
